David has focused almost exclusively on family law since he began practicing law in Oregon in 2001. His experience lends itself to assisting clients with a variety of issues. David joined the Wyse Kadish LLP as an associate in 2004, and became a partner in 2008. Prior to Wyse Kadish, he worked at Gevurtz Menashe for several years. Over the last five years, David has strengthened his focus on mediation and Collaborative Divorce. Serving as a mediator and collaborative divorce lawyer provides David, and those he serves, with more satisfying, positively-transforming results.
As a lawyer, as in life, David’s goal is to leave people better off than he found them. While legal matters can be taxing, David’s awareness of his clients’ needs and his ability to communicate serve his clients well. David is grateful for the referrals he receives from his current and former clients. These, along with the many referrals he receives from lawyers, counselors, CPAs, judges and friends are a testament to the fine work David does.
While not practicing law or participating in the community, David enjoys time with his wife, daughters, and dog, Jelly. He has advanced ranks in both kung-fu and karate and loves exploring Portland’s many great restaurants and tasting Oregon Pinots.

I was charged a reasonable fee to prepare, edit and file all of the documentation. Meetings via Zoom were set up in a timely fashion and my questions ...

Disagree About Running Up Bills; Compassionate Attorney and Tireless Advocate
I worked with David for about 9 months through a truly bitter divorce back in 2011. It was complicated by business interests which required more discovery than the usual divorce. At no time did I feel that David or Wyse Kadish billed wantonly. In fact, David did a good job to help me anticipate costs...

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2006.
Reprimand issued in OR, 2006
updated on 02/21/2011This means the lawyer did something wrong but the bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
“David stipulated to a public reprimand for taking action that the bar determined was inappropriate. His client was not harmed by the conduct. The Oregon State Bar acknowledged that David's conduct was not motivated by greed or self-interest. David acted competently and zealously on his client's behalf.”
