I was pregnant with my second child when I retained Adam for my concurrent criminal and juvenile cases. Adam advised me to take the plea offer in my criminal case. Jail time was at the discretion of the judge, but Adam assured me I would not go to jail. I took the plea offer. Then I went to jai...l. My due date was 32 days away on the date of my sentencing. On that day, I was sentenced to 30 days in jail. I had no prior record, and the prosecution didn’t even ask for jail time. But I got it anyway. The judge was not impressed by Adam’s defense. In fact, his defense probably did more harm than good. If I would have served all 30 days of my sentence, I would have had my baby in jail. (I ended up serving 24 days of my sentence. Then I went into labor three days after I was released.) I got those last few crucial days off of my sentence by transferring “across the street.” Adam didn’t know anything about this alternative jail option. Shortly after I transferred over, Adam went on vacation. He did not tell me that he was going to go on vacation, even though he had had the chance to at my sentencing hearing or when he visited me before I transferred over. Instead, I found out from Dawn, Adam’s paralegal, when I called his office after he didn’t show up when he had said he would visit me again. (My criminal case had been resolved, but my juvenile case was still ongoing, so I needed to stay in contact with Adam, especially after being sent to jail.) While nothing went horribly wrong in my juvenile case, I did not feel the high hourly rate Adam charged for his services was justified. I had had high hopes for Adam after reading all the glowing reviews of his amazing work on this site. But in the end, he proved to be a huge disappointment.

He believed my 13 year old son and fought for him like if he was his own son. Because of h...im my son will NOT be going away for 7 years for a crime we believe he didn’t do. Adam made us feel extremely comfortable at first sight and when he talked to us we were 100% confident that he was going to give it his all. I had to rewrite this 3 times. There’s just not enough space to put all of the good things that happened to me because of Adam. So here’s the big nutshell: I was facing potentially 10 years and 4 months, but likely going to get 5 years, 11 months. I ended up with a deal that meant 7 days jail and ...150 hours community service. Pause and think about that…. That’s bigger than huge. How? …Adam. There’s a comical story of how I found Adam, and typical in the sense I’m writing a review. He replaced a conniving national lawyer group who I later found out wasn’t even on the Oregon State Bar. I had 2 aspects to my case. A criminal side, and a juvenile side. The national lawyer group couldn’t do the juvenile side, and so I found Adam. To my surprise and delight, he offered to do the juvenile side for free while we focused on the criminal. Every time I called Adam, he called back. Every time I had a question… he had an answer. He spent so much time on my case, that if it weren’t for the set fee, I think I’d be owing him for life. I offered him more money as a result… twice…and he’s turned me down. To top it all off, he’s sticking with me through my probation for free, even though he’s already earned every penny and could walk away. So I’m offering a third time, Adam. Just let me know. Adam is so much more than the money, though. He’s a rare breed of honest and decent lawyers. I truly would have been lost if it wasn’t for him. I just got really lucky… that’s all. Finding him changed my life. Don’t let money be a deciding factor, really, when choosing a lawyer. However finding a worthy affordable one… should. Adam has connections, and he knows his local area. His experience is overwhelming and his way to present the facts is very unique. Ultimately my defense came from me, however his ability to keep the level head, and not divulge important facts too soon, and present them in the light of their maximum potential is what brought me into the lucky circumstance I ended in. That's talent, Adam, and you have it. Again, there’s so much more to write and I wanted this to be much more personal. Avvo needs to allow 2 pages, not 1 for reviews. So I’ll leave you the bottom line. If you’re looking for a lawyer who is affordable, powerful, intense, kind, caring, understanding, non-judging, loyal, helpful, reliable, honest, decent, AND you pick someone else other than Adam. You just made the biggest mistake of your life. Adam Dean does more than just legally fight for you. He will keep your fears at bay and work with you on whatever problem you have. I made a mistake. When I was finally caught, I thought my life was over. Now I have a future again. Thank you Adam. Thank you in the sense that you let me keep my morals to do the right thing, do it legally, and not lose the life I have in the process.
