I began working with Diane in Jan/Feb. 2015 and we just had our hearing with the Disability Judge this week, so it's been a long process. Throughout the entire process Diane has been very supportive, informative and communicative regarding the information I required and what would help me to have a positive outcome. I could not be more pleased with my choice in Legal representation. Diane has been a rock during the very lengthy process and was always encouraging and realistic with regards to the outcome and how things might or might not turn out. Fortunately in my case the outcome was positive and this is due directly to Ms. Haar's efforts, I cannot thank her enough. My email is below and I am happy to answer any questions a prospective client may have to the best of my ability.

After well over 3 years and 3 attorneys, I finally found Diane! Her unparalleled compassion, commitment and experience, to me as a client, changed this entire experience for me. If I look back on this arduous process, there's a clear delineation between my 3 year struggle and the exact moment Diane took over my case. In our very first phone call, she gave me a voice and the peace of mind I was unable to find in the 3 previous attorneys. She got the process moving swiftly and efficiently and saw it through to the end. She is extremely accessible and always willing to take as much time as is need to understand and fully explain each step along the way. I cannot recommend her strongly enough. Diane's experience with Hawaii's system has been a literal godsend to me. I firmly believe that if Diane can't get it done, no one can.

Two attorneys refused to take my adult son's SSI case before Diane agreed to represent him. My son has a mental illness and any interaction with authorities is extremely stressful for him. Diane was able to gain his trust and prepared him for what to expect at his hearing. The case was a difficult one to prove and Diane managed a win against the odds. I am extremely grateful for her assistance.

I met Diane Haar while living in Hawaii and attempting to grind my way through the VA red tape. After yet another decision of "not service connected" (despite medical and military records), Diane stepped in and took over.
Since the beginning, she has always answered my emails, phone calls, and responded to every question and request I have ever had. I have recommended her to every veteran I know, who has gotten tired of being ignored by non-veterans handing veteran issues.
Her professional support during some of the darker periods, was invaluable and her assurances that she's doing everything she can kept me from losing all hope. In a society that looks to veterans as little more than Federal dollar signs, Diane actually cares, and it shows in how she handled my case and the cases of my friends that have contacted her.
Her tenacity in the face of an organization as log-jammed as the VA is amazing. I'm beyond grateful for her help and simply cannot recommend her enough.
Thank you, Diane, for everything.

I have to say, I was skeptic about hiring a lawyer for my SSD case, but I was exhausted and stressed out from the years of fighting the system by myself. When I first talked to Diane, she broke everything down and made it easy to understand the process to hire her and the role she was going to take on. Diane speaks with energy and honest that gives you that feeling that you have the best lawyer who will fight for your rights. With her professionalism, my case was approved in a small fraction of the time it had already taken me on my own. I'm Veteran who suffers from PTSD and crazy anxiety, but now I truly feel relieved that this battle is over.

Diane helped consult my family and I on how to get my mother, who is mentally ill, the proper treatment that she needs. Diane is an expert in the Assisted Community Treatment (Assisted Outpatient Treatment) laws here in Hawaii as she has completed petitions, worked with psychiatrists and gone to court hearings about these cases in the past. She is one of the only lawyers in Hawaii who is knowledgeable and experienced in this area and completely understands the purpose of the ACT program, who needs it and how it can help save lives.
I recommend Diane to anyone looking into the Assisted Community Treatment program or anyone who is a caregiver of someone that is mentally ill and looking for ways to get their loved one help. Through Diane's wisdom, expertise, passion and empathy, she will be able to both represent you legally as well as support you personally. Thank goodness for lawyers like Diane who provide such valuable services for families like mine and for the community as a whole!

My case was a State retirement disability. My application was turned down and I hired another lawyer for an appeal. He took my money upfront, did nothing, then quit on me.
Lady luck smiled on me when I found Diane Haar and her Hawaii Disability Legal Services team. She took my case and put together an amazing appeal which reversed the denial. The appeal brief she put together was above and beyond what I expected. It was amazing!
I can't say enough great things about Diane Haar. Brilliant, nice, caring, efficient, thorough, knows the law and does her research!
I have dealt with lawyers professionally & personally throughout my life and Diane is by far the best. I can't thank her enough! If she takes your case, you are in the best of hands!

OUTSTANDING ATTORNEY! Before I sought out Diane, I was floundering on my own attempting to navigate the Social Security disability process and I was very frustrated and getting nowhere. From my first meeting with Diane, she was courteous, professional and treated me exceptionally well. She took on my case and it moved along pretty quickly, with her providing timely updates throughout the process. I was so impressed by her services, I referred two friends to her who report that they are quite happy with her services too.
Finally, she really showed sincere compassion and tenacity in representing me all the way through my hearing. I just received my fully favorable decision from Social Security and I will receive benefits soon. I cannot thank Diane enough. I will continue to refer friends to her. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Diane is amazing. I had a permenant attack of MS. I can hardly walk, can't use my right hand and I have severe nausea and fatigue. I applied for Disability Insurance and was denied twice even though I had multiple letters from Doctors saying that I am unable to work (including the head of neurology at a large hospital!). At this point, I nearly gave up, but I decided to give an attorney a try. I rang about 5 attorneys in Hawaii. Diane was the only one who returned my calls. She was so positive, confident and caring I could hardly believe it. I ended up speaking to a couple of other attorneys to see if anyone had experience in International cases (I live in Australia). I wasn't impressed. I made the right choice. Throughout the process Diane kept me updated and answered my hundreds of questions in a timely manner. She also dealt with the international office, which is not easy.... Naturally, she won my case. She doesn't give up until she does. I couldn't recommend he highly enough. If you need an attorney please give her a call. You will know what I mean as soon as you speak to her. I don't think you could find a better attorney. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you Diane.
