When I got arrested for a DUI with a high rate of speed in Ventura county I thought I was screwed. The potential penalty that I was facing was 60 days in Ventura County Jail on top of all the other fines and fees (even though it was my first DUI). I ended up hiring Jasen Nielsen to help me out and ...I am very glad that I did. He didn't make a bunch of false promises to me saying that we could get me off completely free and clear, but he told me that we would be able to help me take accountability for what had happened in the best possible way. He did exactly that! Every step of the way Mr. Nielsen kept me informed about what was going on with my case and what needed to be done. He was always available if I had any questions and he made my whole situation SO MUCH EASIER to handle. I was able to get my restricted license for work very quickly and Mr. Nielsen attended all of my court dates for me, saving me time, gas money and headaches. At the end of the day, they somehow missed charging me with anything related to the excessive speed and I was charged with a first time DUI! On top of that, Jasen was able to get me Credit Time Served for the 48 hours that I was supposed to serve resulting in NO JAIL TIME for me!! I had the misfortune of receiving a DUI in Ventura County in 2008. Prior to this, I had never had an encounter with the law or legal system with no prior record, so i was a fish out of water when it came to knowing the proper steps to take in order to tackle this overwhelming charge that I was now fa...cing. Initially, I was referred to an attorney with the promise that I would be in good hands and well represented. Thousands of dollars later, I was disappointed to learn that the attorney I had originally hired was nothing more than a money hungry, scum bag who could care less about me or my case. I decided to fire that attorney, which ultimately ended up being the best decision I ever made because it led me to Jasen Nielsen. Admittedly, I was a bit trepidatious about hiring someone new and somewhat reluctant to spend the money because of the horrible experience I just had with my previous attorney. I had a lot of anxiety before meeting Jasen, but as soon as I stepped foot in his office, my fears were almost immediately diminished. Jasen made me feel comfortable, at ease, relaxed, and confident, all while maintaining absolute professionalism. He never promised me anything he could not deliver, and that spoke volumes to me in terms of his character. Jasen is not one to sell or push his services onto you, as I learned, his services speak for itself. Jasen is incredibly knowledgable, dependable, honest, and trustworthy. He cares about his clients, and he fights hard for them. Never once in the three years he represented me did I feel like I didn't know what was happening with my case. He attended every court appearance, followed by an immediate phone call, answered all of my questions and or concerns (and there were a lot of them), constantly called to make sure I always knew where I stood in terms of my case and to make sure I was following through on what I needed to fulfill on my end. He walked me through the terms of my probation, and even accompanied me to the probation office to make sure my forms were arriving on time and to ensure I was fully aware of every detail involving my probation. Jasen went above and beyond for me, and renewed my faith that there are great attorneys out there who do have your best interest at heart. There were times that I slipped up during my time on probation, and Jasen was not only there to talk me through it, he was physically in court the next day, if it was required, sometimes with less than 24 hour notice, to prevent the court from violating me. While I know he had many more cases he was handling, Jasen always made me feel that I was the only case he was representing because I always had his undivided attention. Since 2008, when someone I know asks me if it is worth spending the money to hire an attorney, I always reply, "only if you hire Jasen Nielsen." Of course you need an attorney for a serious charge like a DUI, but Jasen fights extremely hard for his clients to ensure they receive the most appropriate sentence possible. Even after my case was over, he continued to call to make sure I was doing okay and nothing new had come up, and he always reassured me that if I had any questions or needed anything, he was just a phone call away. I only wish I would have hired him from the beginning, it would have saved me a lot of money and a tremendous amount of stress. You will not regret a dime you spend on his services, and you will be thankful everyday that you have him on your side and are not doing this alone.
