Admitted to practice law in all California state courts, the U.S. Federal District Court for the Eastern District of California (Sacramento and Fresno), and the U.S. Federal District Court for the Central District of California (Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Riverside). I have litigated cases in both Federal and State courts, and have represented clients in almost every county in California. My practice is exclusively criminal defense.
In addition, I lived and worked in Afgahanistan for six years (2008-2014) training judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys and police investigators in several Rule of Law projects funded by the United States Department of State.
Currently, I routinely represent clients in Shasta, Siskiyou, Trinty, Tehama, Butte, and Humbolt counties, and Federal District Court in Sacramento.
Outside interests include scuba diving, firearms, camping, hiking, travel, motorcycles, and flying as a private pilot.

I met Mr. Fannon a very long time ago. I think i may have been one of his first few clients he litigated in open court for. Not only was he a top notch attorney but i found out he is an excellent person also. Thank you for all your time and help Jeff Brewster

I talked to a dozen lawyers over the phone and chose Michael and am so happy I did; he was extremely professional, accessible and knew what he was doing. My case involved potenti...

Mr. Fannon provides excellent legal representation. Such is no surprise as his multidisciplinary background provides him with a wealth of knowledge to refer to. Mr. Fannon has worked in the law enforcement sector, prosecution and criminal defense. To have a lawyer with such diverse experience is t...
"I endorse this lawyer. I had the pleasure of working closely with Michael Fannon for about a year. He has has a wealth of information regarding the criminal justice system, trial techniques, and defense strategy from anything from simple first time DUIs to more complicated felony cases. He is an effective advocate who is well respected by his peers and former clients."
"Michael Fannon is a great lawyer. I worked with him on a number of criminal cases. I relied on his advice and knowledge to great results for my clients!"
"Michael and I met as students at McGeorge School of Law. We were good friends and have remained in contact over the many years. I have known Michael's background since law school days, which I believe is well suited for criminal law matters. I endorse Michael."
"Michael Fannon is, quite simply, a gift to the Shasta County criminal-defense bar. Even a brief discussion with Michael will show you that he has the expertise in criminal law that can only come from many years of experience with hard-fought cases and a passion for the topic that drives him to keep learning more. He incorporates technology into his practice of law to keep his clients' costs down. He is honest with his clients, helping them to make good decisions as they balance the merits of their cases, their likelihood of winning at trial, and the financial/personal costs of going to trial. He works well with other attorneys, court staff, and prosecutors to ensure that his clients receive the best treatment possible. He takes his clients' cases seriously, really digging into the facts and the law to provide the best defense possible. He prepares well for his court appearances while also maintaining the very important ability of thinking on his feet."
"Experience counts. I have seen his results on a number of occasions in court. As a former public defender he handled thousands of cases. As a private criminal defense attorney he has handled thousands more. If you are in the area and need help do yourself a favor and call him for a consultation."
"I endorse this lawyer's work. I used to be a Deputy District Attorney and have had numerous cases against Mr. Fannon. He was always prepared and was a worthy adversary."
