My DUI was 2 years ago. Mr. Gardner was always timely with his correspondence, he investigated and explored every avenue of my case to give me the best possible chance heading into my court appointment. My case unfortunately didn't give me a ton of wiggle room to get out of anything, but with the dif...ficult position that I was in, Mr. Gardner was still able to reduce significantly the charges the D.A. was hungry for and I was able to get through that difficult time in my life with as much ease and support as there could be. I had to return back to court recently. I had it in my mind that the DUI VIP program through Shasta County Court had a deadline of the end of my probationary period, which was not the case. Apparently you need to finish in a lot more timely manner than I had. I live in Chico now and it's extremely difficult to ask for time off of work to spend a whole day at court, especially a new job. I called Mr. Gardner's office and was greeted with the most helpful, respectful, thorough assistant I have ever spoken to . I explained that I had completed my VIP program which the court had receipt of, but my court date was still mandatory for me to attend. I asked if there was any chance of Mr. Gardner showing for me for fear of losing my job. He assured me that Mr. Gardner would most likely be open to that, but of course he would need to confirm with him. It wasn't a phone call from his assistant that I received next (the very next day), but from Mr. Gardner himself. He wanted to review my case with me so that he went in with a thorough understanding of what had happened in the past 2 years so that he could represent me to the very best of his ability. He then assured me that I need not be there and that he would absolutely stand up and speak for me when my name is called. I have never known, nor heard of an attorney who happily goes out of their way and goes above and beyond the way that Mr. Gardner and his team have for me. I will be forever grateful and continue to not only sing Mr. Gardner's praises, but refer everyone who needs an attorney for a difficult time in their life to the professional, respectful and 110% effort of Mr. Gardner and his law office.

I highly recommend Doug. Unfortunately I have used his services twice. I had never been through anything like this and did not have a clue of what to do. Doug represented my young son in a Juvenile matter. He did everything possible to turn a very uncomfortable situation around. He explained ...the process every step of the way. And again, I used his services for my son in an Adult Criminal Case. He worked with us and convinced the courts to my place my son into an alternative Drug Program instead of jail/prison. My case was a DUI case and attorney Douglas Gardner handled my case very professionally, though I agree that he was late few times due to being caught in the other city court house, he was very skilled and proficient once he started talking and arguing my case. He did not agree with the prosecutor... on the sentencing and the hearing was turned over into a mini trial. As expected he was very forceful with his questioning and very professional, I would highly recommend him and give him 5 star for being a knowledgeable and dynamic attorney.
