In December 2016 an Uber Delivery Driver slipped and fell on my deck delivering a burrito to someone at my house. About a month later I received a letter from his attorney suing me (or my insurance). I believed that the insurance company (PEMCO) tried not to accept the claim and defend me, and I a...sked Mr. James to review about 8 different policy documents to find out if I was protected. I was very stressed out through this and needed to know from a third-party that I was protected no matter what PEMCO did. He clued in on several that provided me the claim protection I needed. I learned that under Oregon Law Uber Delivery drivers are considered "business invitees" and because they don't have worker's compensation through their contract work, Uber doesn't cover them. What Todd showed me was that the particular guest of my home was also covered by my home insurance due to some clause somewhere that I didn't understand. I hired Todd on an hourly basis but he indicated that he would only charge me only if he needed to fight the insurance company on the issue (which I thought was fair); essentially he did preliminary work and prepared if needed to represent me directly. In the end, PEMCO paid out $85,000 to the claimant and subsequently dropped me from coverage about 9 months later. I'll never do business with PEMCO again, but I wouldn't hesitate for a moment from calling Todd again for assistance.
