I will start by saying that I cannot praise Tara Rojas enough. Having now been through the seemingly endless strife of a custody battle, I know that if you are reading this that life might be hard right now. This is why I feel compelled to write about my experience and how Tara helped me through it. ...She has been the bridge between me and a relationship with my children. My case was complicated and tough, but Tara got me through it all. My plight started with an ill-conceived marriage settlement agreement with a disingenuous former spouse. After taking up residence in another state, said former spouse then fabricated abuse allegations against me and got the court to cut off contact between me and my children. I consulted with several other attorneys, and did not get a good feeling. Then a friend referred me to Ms. Rojas, and the rest is history. I was confident in Tara’s ability to get the right outcome for my family from the moment that I met her. I went from being a stressed-out mess, to calm and confident. I attribute this to Tara’s tireless efforts on my case. She made me feel as if I was her only client, and I slept soundly knowing that she had my back. After our first meeting, she evaluated all courses of action, and kept me informed every step of the way. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Tara. When I came to her, I was a mess and so was my case. I had previously hired a lawyer who was terrible and that said lawyer made many HUGE mistakes. In searching for a family law lawyer my goal was to find someone who was tenacious and ethnical -- someone who knew where the 'ethical line' was and had no problem stepping up to it but wouldn't cross it. I knew I wanted to come from a place of love but I also knew I was about to have a child custod...y battle with a high conflict individual -- I was scared to death. Ms Rojas's strategic thinking, tenacity, consistent follow-through, and sense of humor are the only reasons I was able to embark on this journey. Ms Rojas was exceptional during every court hearing; very professional to fellow lawyers and court personnel. She advocated for me and my kids at every turn -- strategically mapping each and every step we took. She spoke up when necessary and also knew when it was best to be silent -- never losing her cool. While I was a nervous wreck she explained every step and would end each hearing with a smile on her face and a "it was a good day in court". She recommended specialists (co-parenting therapists, child therapists, & private mediators) that were highly-skilled & could see through the "smoke screen" my ex was creating. She was even able to negotiate a settlement with my ex's attorney; who was convinced we should go to trial so my high-conflict ex could 'clear his name'. Ms Rojas's advice to me throughout this past year not only helped me to succeed in court but has helped me navigate situations outside of my child custody dispute -- I am now, always, the most reasonable person in the room. I would highly recommend Ms Rojas (and already have) to anyone who is embarking on a change in child custody and/or beginning divorce proceedings. As my father stated multiple times, Ms Rojas is 'sharp' and an excellent family law attorney.
