Do not hire!

am sharing this review because I do not want anyone else to hire this firm and go through what I experienced. My case was mishandled from the start, and the lack of accountability, communication, and attention to detail caused unnecessary legal conflict, financial loss, and emotional stress. I hired... this firm because Tara came highly recommended by another attorney. When I first contacted them, I was told Tara was not available but would be in a few weeks. I waited those weeks specifically so she could represent me. At no point did she tell me that she would be delegating my case to someone else. If I had known she would never actually appear, strategize with me, or meaningfully handle my file, I would not have hired the firm. Despite paying more than $10,000, Tara never represented me. Instead, I repeatedly received last-minute notices before hearings that she was unavailable and an associate would be stepping in. This was not what I agreed to and not what I was promised. One of the most serious issues is that the attorney handling my case missed a critical legal fact. According to the judge and the transcript, I already had sole legal and physical custody since 2024 with no visitation to the father. This means the custody litigation the firm led me into was completely unnecessary. A proper review of my court file would have shown this immediately. This is exactly why people hire attorneys: to review the file carefully, understand the legal posture, and protect clients from unnecessary conflict. Instead, I was pushed into an avoidable legal battle with a high-conflict ex, something that should never have happened. When I raised concerns, pointed out inconsistencies, or asked why certain things were being done, the responses I received from were often defensive, hostile, and completely void of accountability. Instead of taking responsibility or revisiting their work, the firm minimized and dismissed my concerns and told me I could substitute them out. This would be before hearings. There were also preventable procedural errors that cost me money. For one hearing, I was charged for a private court reporter. My attorney failed to notify the court in time, so the reporter I paid for was not allowed to appear. This should never happen when a case is handled with care. At latest hearings, I did not feel represented. At the first hearing, the associate openly told me that my ex was "scary" and that she felt intimidated by him. This immediately made me feel unprotected, and it showed in how she handled the hearing. This was also the hearing where she forgot to notify the court about the court reporter. At the main hearing, I again did not feel represented. When the judge stated that I already had sole legal and physical custody with no visitation to the father, the matter should have ended there. Sole custody with no visitation is clear. Instead, the associate raised the issue of passports and international travel in a way that opened the door for my ex to be heard. This led to the judge adding new international travel limitations that were completely unnecessary and that I did not agree to. I told my attorney during the hearing that I did not want these restrictions, yet she did not object or communicate my position. Because she stayed silent, I left the courtroom with new restrictions that I had never had before and did not want. I also specifically asked the firm to have the court clarify that I could claim my son on taxes, which is financially significant for me. They forgot to raise the issue. When I brought it up afterward, instead of acknowledging their mistake, they became defensive and offered no accountability. What made everything worse was that immediately after the final hearing, rather than helping correct any issues or supporting me through the consequences, the firm continued to deny any responsibility. My concerns were instead met with hostility. I was left alone to deal with the fallout of errors that were not mine

Powerhouse dynamo

I decided to hire Tara after attending a workshop she presented on family law. I was impressed with her quick wit, extensive knowledge of California family law and her confidence. She gave me much needed support during a tumultuous time. Tara is brillianty organized, thorough and one step ahead o...f the opposition. The prevailing thought I had during the entire process was, “I am so glad I’m not on the other side of this table .” Tara does not like to lose and she argues flawlessly. Her adherence to ethics cannot be compromised. Divorce is a nightmare and brutally stressful. Tara succeeded in winning me more than I expected. I can not say enough about how relieved and pleased i am with the job she did for me. Additionally, her staff is amazing, professional and delightful to work with . Teresa and Yolie are superstars in their own right . Thanks to all!

Exceeded all expectations

When I hired Tara, I honestly did not know how I would survive the thought of being divorced and raising children on my own. I was depressed, angry, and destroyed. Tara went above and beyond, was available to me anytime day and night, and she went toe-to-toe with opposing counsel who was very aggre...ssive and had years of experience on Tara. We prevailed on every issue. By the time we were done, I had my sanity back, money to survive, and more property then I expected. Tara's fees are fair and her staff is amazing. I highly recommend Tara and her team.

Absolute best attorney

I will start by saying that I cannot praise Tara Rojas enough. Having now been through the seemingly endless strife of a custody battle, I know that if you are reading this that life might be hard right now. This is why I feel compelled to write about my experience and how Tara helped me through it. ...She has been the bridge between me and a relationship with my children. My case was complicated and tough, but Tara got me through it all. My plight started with an ill-conceived marriage settlement agreement with a disingenuous former spouse. After taking up residence in another state, said former spouse then fabricated abuse allegations against me and got the court to cut off contact between me and my children. I consulted with several other attorneys, and did not get a good feeling. Then a friend referred me to Ms. Rojas, and the rest is history. I was confident in Tara’s ability to get the right outcome for my family from the moment that I met her. I went from being a stressed-out mess, to calm and confident. I attribute this to Tara’s tireless efforts on my case. She made me feel as if I was her only client, and I slept soundly knowing that she had my back. After our first meeting, she evaluated all courses of action, and kept me informed every step of the way. I feel it is important to mention that what set her apart from the other attorneys that I met was that she took the time to get to know me. By doing this, she was able to tell my story to the court. With truth on our side, after multiple hearings, a custody evaluation, and a trial, I now have sole legal and physical custody of my children. Tara disproved all my former spouse’s allegations, and now I am free to raise my family in a healthy environment. If you want the absolute best attorney to work on your behalf, then hire Tara Rojas.

Amazing lawyer and lady

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Tara. When I came to her, I was a mess and so was my case. I had previously hired a lawyer who was terrible and that said lawyer made many HUGE mistakes. I felt defeated. Tara cleaned up those mistakes and she gave me hope again. She is very ethical, f...air, direct, and she always has a plan. She dug deep and pushed when she needed to (it was impressive). She always gave me choices with possible outcomes so that I could decide what was best for my situation. Tara was very personable and she truly cared about me, my family, and my outcome. She was always respectful, knowledgeable, and personable in the court room. She knows her stuff! I would highly recommend Tara for any divorce case. You won't be disappointed!
