Scott is Amazing and realistic

You will not regret both the experience and respect Scott Malloy brings with him. Sonoma County is growing but it still remains a tight community and you will want this respected professional on your side. His reputation and experience will help you in your case especially where there are any gray... areas and a legal professional's reputation will make or break the specific goal you are trying to achieve. Divorce 'is what it is' and both parties may need to make sacrifices but at least you will know that with Scott's realistic approach you are not being conned into 'more court time.' You'd be surprised on the candid conversations I had with other divorce lawyers where they admit to loving court time because they get paid more money whereas Scott has better things to do than waste your time and money with fairytale hopes in your divorce. You get an honest man willing to fight for you but also ensuring you know what you are getting into so you can avoid pushing for unnecessary actions that will cost more in fees than you will gain. Good luck to you on your hunt for an attorney. Thank you Scott!

Thoughtful and practical counsel.

I am the Trustee of my deceased mother's estate and in the process of selling my mother's house. I have known Scott socially for some time but have not interacted with him for a number of years. I ran into him at the post office a few months back and was given his business card. This week I needed ...some legal advice right away and decided to call Scott to see if he could help me. I called Scott for a telephone consultation regarding dual agency and disclosure with respect to the sale of my mother's property. He told me right away that he doesn't specialize in real estate law but asked what my particular concerns were regarding the subject. After providing some detail on our listing agreement and outlining questions that had been raised by my sister, Scott indicated that he could do some research on the specific topics if I desired, but he could share some general legal views right away on what I had presented to him thus far. It turned out that as we discussed the issues (which were largely concerns of my sister), Scott's observations regarding the general legal meaning of certain terms and conditions and his perspective on the actions and timing of the real estate agent, were right in line with what I felt was the situation but was unable to articulate in as meaningful a way as Scott did. Having attempted to sell real estate for about a year, more than two decades ago, I came away from our conversation with the confidence that Scott's perspective had given me all the information I needed without further investigation. The half hour or so consultation with Scott was without charge but I will not hesitate to use his services in the future.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
