Lifesaver!

I contacted John to help my daughter. She had not filed her taxes for 6 years. I had her get the returns done, and she owed so much money, I could see that she would never be able to get caught up. We called John, and after an initial phone interview, he said she would be a good candidate for an "Off...er in compromise". We met with John in person and hired him to handle this for her with the IRS. It took almost a year (which John had told us it probably would) and the offer was accepted by the IRS. They settled for pennies on the dollar and my daughter has a fresh start! We couldn't be happier and highly recommend John. He is very easy to work with.

Excellent Tax Attorney

John Wetenkamp resolved my tax issues that I have been dealing with for over 5 years. He was able to get me an Offer In Compromise and saved me thousands of dollars

IRS audit and appeal

IRS declared our business a hobby and said we owed over $100,000 plus fines etc. We had been trying on our own for 4 years to prove to them that we had a legitimate business but to no avail. Didn't know where to turn so looked on internet for specialized attorneys for tax audits etc. The other rev...iews for Mr Wetenkamp were very positive so we contacted him. He was very prompt and very clear about what he could do. He looked at our case and said it looked promising so we hired him. After he thoroughly looked through all our documentation and asked for items we hadn't thought of he wrote a letter to the IRS appeals office that was concise and even cited prior IRS cases similar to ours that help prove our case. In his letter he also worded it so that it looked stupid to think that our business was a hobby, but did not call the IRS stupid. One thing that a person has to understand about the IRS audit and appeal process is that the IRS moves at a snail's pace. All this took over a year but that was due to the slowness of the IRS. My husband would get antsy why we hadn't heard anything from the IRS, Mr Wetenkamp kept us calm and would call the IRS agent to find out our status. Mr Wetenkamp sometimes would NOT call the IRS because he's found that is you bother them too much they might become negative to one's case, this kept my antsy husband satisfied. A few weeks ago we received an official letter from the IRS to end to our appeal, we WON. Our business will no longer be considered a hobby and we owe the IRS not one single cent. If we hadn't hired Mr Wetenkamp I'm sure we'd be in dire straits right now. My advice - don't take on the IRS by yourself, and hire an attorney who has years of experience dealing with audits, appeals etc. The IRS will try to scare you, I'll always remember the day we received a SUMMONS from the IRS in the mail, I was mortified, at the time our accountant calmed me down and then made the statement a few months later "I think you need to hire an attorney". We thank Mr John Wetenkamp for his prompt, accurate service, dealing with our sometimes frantic phone calls (he always calmed us down) and great customer service. He was worth every cent and we would not hesitate to hire him again if the need arises.

Best Attorney we ever had!!!

John Wetenkamp impressed us big time. He was right on top of the IRS keeping everything moving towards a fantastic settlement for us. He represented us and we never had to talk to the IRS. He kept them from worrying us from the minute we retained his services. I would recommend this attorney to ...everyone. He charged a fair fee and no more than that.... no hidden charges.

They can help you too.

After trying to resolve my Tax debt for many years to no avail I found Montgomery & Wetenkamp. My debt had escalated to over $80, 000.00. Within 10 months they negotiated with the IRS on my behalf and it was settled for $955.00. Yes that's right.A little over 1% of the debt. Give them a call an...d let their lawfirm do the rest. Thank you just doesn't seem like enough.
