I'm giving attorney Goss a one star due to the fact that I feel he was unconcerned with my son's case. Replied last September 26, 2016Hi Lynda, I apologize that you did not get the result you hoped for regarding your son's case. I am concerned with all of my clients' cases, and work to get the best possible outcome for each of them. However, your review does not remind me of any recent or current case in which I have been involved. The ethical standards that govern attorneys in California require that I provide my clients their discovery when they ask for it. If I don't, I can lose my license to be an attorney. That is one reason why I ALWAYS provide discovery to my clients when they request it. Additionally, I always review all relevant materials regarding my clients' cases. I take every reasonable step to help my clients, and I also enjoy winning. I would never handicap myself by not reviewing all the discovery. In some cases, the evidence against my client is overwhelming, and there is little chance to win at trial. Part of my job involves negotiating with the DA to reach a deal that my clients can live with when there is little chance to win. What may have appeared to you to be "conspiring" may have been a negotiation to convince the DA to a jail sentence of one year instead of a prison sentence for five years, for example. A felony charge is always serious, so I would never say that it is not. A violent felony is especially serious. Finally, because I am familiar with my clients and their families, and because you have not provided details that match to any current or recent clients, I somewhat doubt the authenticity of this review. Part of my practice involves suing people who have hurt my clients, and sometimes those people fabricate stories to leave negative reviews. If this review is legitimate, then I very much want to speak with you to see what can be done to rectify the situation.
