Jonathan Blecher earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Florida in 1978 and conferred a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1981. Early in his career, Attorney Blecher persued felony prosecutions in cases ranging from DUI's to murder as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County. Following public service, he was the senior trial attorney at Essen & Essen, P.A.. He has been licensed to practice before all Florida courts since 1982. Attorney Blecher is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the Eastern District of Michigan. He's a member of the Federal Trial Bar. Attorney Blecher belongs to the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The National Assocation of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Florida Lawyer's Network, and has served as a Judge for the University of Miami Law School Moot Court and Mock Trial Competitions. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Blecher has led seminars instructing attorneys on DUI defense, and has taught lectures on courtroom procedure for police officers at the Miami-Dade County Police Academy.

Incredible lawyer

Amazing Communication

Excellent Lawyer and Advocate

Hired Jonathan to help us with an unfortunate interaction involving our son and the court system in Miami-Dade. Jonathan was extremely diligent as our representative (we are out of state), very knowledgeable about process and the law, and most importantly, had very good "bedside manners" which was much needed during a tense period. Always returned our phone calls promptly despite being busy and also explained possible outcomes in a way that was accessible to us (with very limited experience with courts, police etc.). We recommend Jonathan highly.

DUI Case

Got a DUI over a year ago. Hired Jonathan and he made it a painless experience and made me feel comfortable as this was a tough time. DUI are expensive but he worked with me on making payments to him. He was very responsive to my emails and always answered me in under 2 hours. I never had to appear in court which allowed me not to miss work and he always updated me on everything. He was great and I recommend his sevices.

Fast and Helpful Consultation

Jonathan gave me a call immediately after I submitted a request online and was able to provide much-needed insight into my DUI situation, which was complicated due to the fact it was out of state (and I had been struggling to get a straight answer from numerous parties).
