Biography
Tatyana A. Edwards-Behar is a Certified Specialist in U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law, an attorney licensed to practice in the state of California, with over 23 years of practice in the area of U.S. Immigration and Nationality law. She is a founder and owner of a private law practice, a full-service immigration law firm active throughout the United States and worldwide. In August 2014 Tatyana A. Edwards-Behar was certified by the State Bar of California as a Certified Specialist in Immigration & Nationality Law.
Born in Moscow, Russia, Tatyana is herself an immigrant and the daughter of a prominent medical scientist and a world-renowned cancer researcher who was invited to participate in cutting-edge cancer research projects at the Salk Institute in La Jolla, California, ultimately leading to a Nobel Prize received by Salk Institute.
Tatyana completed her studies at U.C. San Diego leading to B.A. in Economics and earned an MBA in Finance from San Diego State University. Tatyana also holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Utah School of Law. She is a bi-lingual attorney, who is fluent in Russian language. She frequently travels to Moscow, Russia to provide consular support to many of her individual and corporate clients.
As one of the busiest Immigration litigation lawyers in her field, Tatyana is admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court, Federal Courts of the Central and Southern Districts of California, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Tatyana is maintaining a very extensive litigation and appellate practice. Several of her appellate cases have set new precedents in Immigration Law and Federal Immigration litigation.
Tatyana Edwards-Behar is an active member of American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). I served as AILA Treasurer of the San Diego Chapter Executive Comimittee, and as a Chair of ICE ERO Commitee and the Asylum Liaison Committee. I am bi-lingual. I published immigration related articles on the most current U.S. immigration issues in several Russian language pulbications. I was also a host of a popular radio talk show for the Russian speaking audiences in Southern California. I am the original administrator of Russian Language Interest group of AILA Immigration Lawyers Association. I am a permanent legal advisor for a number of Facebook-based Russian speaking immigration platforms in the U.S.
