BRILLIANT

Brilliant is the word and let me explain the ways. I chose Mitch after reading his profile. What caught my attention was that he volunteers as a Family Practice judge. I told myself then that Mitch would know "what's gonna go and what's not gonna go" hence, that would not only save me time, but mor...e importantly, money. I was right. From day one, I remember questions were asked quickly and I was answering alertly. That one hour went fast and yet, I left Mitch's office feeling relieved and hopeful. Most of all, I left his office feeling it would be worth the retainer because I found a lawyer who would fight for me and who would have my back. Fight for me, he did. On our first and only court appearance, I saw brilliance at work. Succinctly, but clearly, he explained to me what was going to happen and what he would ask for on my behalf. They all sounded great to me. Not only it sounded great, but it also looked great when the presiding judge looked at me with compassion and a gentle smile from his seat. I knew then, we were winning. Mitch confirmed that we got what we asked for- my temporary spousal support and child support retroactively. We also had a 50/50 child custody for our son who was a minor then. The judge also ordered my spouse to pay me $15,000 to help out with my retainer and so on and so forth. The only thing we didn't get was for my former husband to pay in full our son's remaining 2 years of tuition in a private high school. I could understand that as a fair judgment because after all, our son had a very good child support. However, my ex-husband was still ordered to pay our son's tuition for the last half of his sophomore year. When we left the courthouse, I felt relief once again, but ten times more. Just imagine 3/4 of the world being lifted from your back. Moving forward with my case, during all those stomach churning and stressful conferences, I continued to watch Mitch work in an efficient manner- quite organized and methodical, weeding out the potential nays and injecting the sure-shot yeses, hence, saving time and money. Mitch always showed up except for one time which he sent his very capable assistant attorney because of a trial. That meeting was also a success. He also always showed up on time, just being a few minutes late sometimes. I should say it was very well within reason to which I am thankful for knowing that he is an active and well-sought out lawyer. Anyway, there were other things that he asked for on my behalf, but too lengthy to mention. I have to say though, that I don't remember losing any of them. From still being covered by a very good medical insurance until the final judgment to being paid half of our family dog's expenses, and everything in between, Mitch delivered. Before the Final Judgement, Mitch was at work again. He got me the additional spousal support and child support that my ex-husband still owed me. With the Final Judgement being signed and Mitch signing off, I felt relieved once more, but this time, with finality. With my retirement years not too long from now, the permanent spousal support, among other things, that Mitch won for me will help me tremendously. I remember my ex-husband promising then that his potential profession as a radiologist would help "us" in "our" retirement years. I didn't know I was going to be alone during those years. However, the financial help will be there to keep me company. This is where I thank God for leading me to Mitch as my lawyer. This is also where I thank Mitch and his caring staff as well, especially Fabiana. Thank you Mitch for not just being a brilliant lawyer, but also putting a shine on professionalism and work ethics. Thank you again for fighting for me and having my back. THANK YOU SO MUCH, Mitch. Just imagine the whole world being lifted from my back. I wish you, your wife, and children all the best. God bless you. Once again, thank you.

KJ vs AK 2010

I retained Mitchell for handling my divorce case. It was a fairly simple case, I was barely married for three months, and there were no kids involved, no jointly held property or any other kind of assets. There were two court hearing and the entire process took nearly 2 months. The Good He is de...finitely knowledge and outspoken. For example, in the second hearing, he checked some information on his iPhone and updated me. the Bad 1. Always delayed in responding to my emails. I was surprised to notice that even after paying a high retainer, there were times when he simply didn’t reply to some of my emails. 2. He was never on time for the hearings. And, the worst Too expensive, simple case like mine costed over 10 K

I appreciate and thank you for your comment. As an active attorney, litigating cases in court on multiple days each week, I will always endeavor to have a better response time to client emails as well as update clients on a daily basis. Finally I am sorry about the total cost; I hope I kept you informed of the potential costs throughout our time.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
