I don't know how I should express my appreciation to Melinda, and the only thing I can say is to tell all of you she is 100% strongly recommended！！No doubt She is best of the best attorney in Bay Area！！My husband and I have been stayed out of the US for years and he filed divorce case against me whic...h didn't meet the residence requirement at all and forced me to go back US alone with kids to response the case at very high cost during pandemic.I felt helpness and desperated and my friend who had hired Melinda before said she would be the only one can help me. I was afraid to facing the court and to pay expensive lawyer charge,but Melinda encouraged me just need to trust her and she would fight for me with all her effort. She is not only a legal professional but also a very caring partner just like psychotherapist giving me power. She is very good at using differnt legal stratagies and legal codes to fight against the opponent, even on very complicated cases like mine. Unlike some attorneies who charge a lot counted every single second or every email response to client even just saying "yes", she knew my finical hardship, she always want to save me less lawyer cost but provided even way more legal service and care than others. She explained to me in Chinese via call or text after every time she sent me email in English, and that is double workload! Thanks to Melinda, I get what I want. And she is the one save my life. I will definitely work with her and seek legal aid again in the future!!!!

I have worked with two other lawyers in the past, and this is the worst experience yet... or maybe I have just been very lucky in the past. Melinda is very rude, disorganized, and I was faced with lots of unexpected charges not previously mentioned or discussed, although total chargers for all servi...ces were discussed in the beginning. First it was "oh by the way I forgot to tell you, you have to pay fedex costs to send documents" (all my previous lawyers covered that cost), then she took a month (!!!) to get back to my inquiry about documents that needed to be submitted, and when she finally replied she threatened to charge me for overnight shipping, because she did not have time and supposedly I didn't get back to her soon enough. The worst of it all was when my mother has called inquiring about our case (they have met before on my behalf), Melinda tactlessly yelled at her, stating she was not her client and that she does not have time to talk to her. This was a real blow to me, because my mom is 10 years her senior, and nobody likes their family members mistreated like that. Finally when everything was said and done, it was "oh by the way you owe us $500 more." If there are extra charges, or even the possibility of them, they need to be discussed when all chargers are discussed, at the very beginning. I understand there could be unforeseeable costs, but these costs were completely predictable. She did get the job done, but I wonder if any lawyer would have been able to do that, as it was a pretty straightforward case, just a matter of proper format and the right paperwork. Overall a very unpleasant experience, to say the least.

Ms. Zhang handled my asylum application, and I truly believe that without her, I might not be alive today. I went to another attorney first, and they told me that I had little chance of staying in the U.S., that I should just leave and hope for the best. Then I found Ms. Zhang, and she agreed fig...ht for me. We worked many late nights putting together information needed. She charged me a low fixed price, because that's what I could afford. She made me get documentation that I never even considered would be useful. We had to resubmit some parts, and she helped me with that as well. When I received notice that I could stay in this great country, I cried for an hour. I highly recommend her, and wish her all the success she deserves.
