Professorial, respectful, experienced, patient and clever
Matt is professorial, respectful, experienced, patient and clever. He just doesn't take your case and start working on it. He sits down with you, patiently listens to the whole story and then lays down an strategy. This is a sign of a smart attorney. He represented me for the first 2 months and I changed him thinking I could get an even better attorney. My case has now concluded and I have regretted changing him. In the short 2 months that he represented me, he had laid down solid base in which I was able to use thorough out the remaining 8 months. If it was not for his clever maneuvering, I would have had much worse ending. I really wished I hadn't changed him :(
I met with Matthew for a consult for a hour. He never once judged my case , even
Though it was a very complex case . He gave me very informative advice and he was very knowledgeable about family law . Unfortunately , I was not able to hire him due to someone else in my family was paying for my case and they found a different attorney. But I would definitely recommend Matthew to anyone looking for a family law attorney.
CERTIFIED FAMILY LAW SPECIALIST. EXPERIENCE YOU NEED. RESULTS YOU WANT.
Matthew J. Rudy is the founding attorney of The Law Office of Matthew J. Rudy. A San Jose native, Matt has been a family law attorney since graduating from the Santa Clara University School of Law in 2007. Matt attended college at Fordham University’s Rose Hill Campus in the Bronx, New York. An eight-time Academic All-American on Fordham’s Division I men’s water polo team, Matt graduated with a double major in Political Science and History. After college Matt returned to his hometown to attend law school at Santa Clara University. It was there that he discovered his passion for family law and first realized his desire to work directly with clients to obtain practical results-oriented solutions to real world problems. A recipient of multiple awards for receiving the top marks in his classes, Matt accepted a position with one of the South Bay’s premier family law firms following his graduation. There Matt gained tremendous experience representing a diverse range of family law clients in proceedings including custody and visitation proceedings, child support hearings, hearings on temporary and permanent spousal support, post-judgment modification proceedings, domestic violence restraining order proceedings and trials on complex property characterization, property valuation and property division issues. Having passed the October 2011 Family Law Specialist Exam administered by the State Bar of California, and awaiting the completion of other requirements to become a Certified Family Law Specialist, in 2012 Matt decided to open his own practice dedicated to providing his clients with the best results in the most efficient and expeditious fashion possible. This vision guides Matt’s practice and he often extolls the virtues of performing a cost-benefit analysis before pursuing a course of action. Outside the office Matt remains close to the sport of water polo. Having coached while in law school, Matt currently serves as coach of the Stanford University club water polo team.

Fantastic Consultation!
I had a consultation today with Matthew and I was quite impressed. His sharpness and intellectual abilities I noticed were top-notch, as we asked him many difficult and complex questions that he answered sharply. I was also greatly impressed with his kindness and compassion. I have seen 4 other lawyers and Matthew far surpasses them in my opinion. We are currently looking for a lawyer, and we may consult with a few others over the following weeks, but as of now Matthew is the lawyer I'd like to retain. His integrity and honesty were incomparable and I was very impressed all-around.

Outstanding Law Firm
I had talked to few attorneys before I spoke with Mr Rudy about my jurisdictional case. He made me feel very comfortable and his judgement on how to deal the case was outstanding. What makes him different that even after the free consultation he still responds and answers to your questions to make us feel more comfortable. Although I was in NJ, he made me feel confident about my case and gave a strong legal advice.
He has a very clear understanding of the Law. His Associate Attorney Jeremy & paralegal Elina did an excellent job too. The legal argument provided by them was outstanding and praise worthy. His Law firm was courteous, competent and professional.
I would highly recommend "The Law Office of Matthew J Rudy" without any hesitation. I really feel that I made the right choice by retaining his firm for my case.

Great Experience!
I met with Matthew Rudy last week to discuss my case. He spent over an hour helping me with my case and never once seemed pushy, never talked about rates, retainers, etc. He explained that my case should be fairly easy to resolve since we do not have children or too many assets. I took notes on what to do in court and I literally walked out of there with ease.
If I end up needing an attorney, I know who to call.
