In my opinion, this is the worst lawyer ever! He is more concerned over his bank account than he is about helping you! Run away!

Walter Hammon is the worst lawyer imaginable! He is only interested in how much money he can take from you, not how to best represent you!! Read all the negative reviews! Look for specific examples why many people hate this man so much, not just a feeling of how great he is (which is probably written... by him or someone who is paid for writing reviews on his behalf). He lies, steals, makes up bills, pads his bills, and doesn't even provide necessary info to the court if it conflicts with him stealing more money. I could write an entire book of all the things he did to help his bank account and completely ignore what was best for me. Run away from him as fast as you can!

Stalling and Billing are his strengths

Walter Hammon's strengths are dictating letters, stalling cases and block billing. When he does focus on a case - he can get resolution - but he understands it's more lucrative to dictate letters and run up the bills without resolution - allowing him to continue billing his multiple clients for many... more months. His secretary / admin / paraleagal / Gatekeeper and agent-of-service is also great at stalling saying "the boss isn't available", "I'll send you a letter later when I get around to typing his dictation", "please send more money". If you hire Mr. Hammon you should be aware of his history of suing his former clients [I have no doubt every one of these suits is legally proper and in accordance with State Bar ethics rules and any other applicable statutes]. A search of Public Court records shows the following suits Mr. Hammon filed AGAINST his clients in Santa Clara County Court to extract additional payment from his former clients - these seem to be clients who were left broke or dissatisfied with his services and unwilling or unable to pay: 17CV312921 Hammon vs Silvia Rutt 17CV312921 Hammon vs Lin Chan 2012-1-CV-234828 Hammon vs S Carson 2011-1-CV-204915 Hammon vs Loretta Wahl 2012-1-AP-001274 Hammon vs Cynthia Johnson 2012-1-CV-223395 Hammon vs J Watson - 2011-1-CV-194496 Hammon vs C Josefson 2011-1-CV-194501 Hammon vs Nino Campanell 2011-1-CV-194505 Hammon vs Nina Vaca 2009-1-CV-147400 Hammon vs Nghia Nguyen 2009-1-CV-147399 Hammon vs Steven Struck 2009-1-CV-147398 Hammon vs Farah Modir 2009-1-CV-147394 Hammon vs Bunker 2007-1-CV-098615 Walter Pierce Hammon, Esq. vs J. Collett - 2007-1-CV-091519 - Hammon vs John Carpenter His former client John Carpenter filed a response and to his suit [ Hammon vs Carpenter 2007-1-CV-091519] - the response is particularly telling and informative. Divorce is painful and complicated. I wish you courage and luck and I hope you find a good attorney to lead you if you must walk down the Divorce path. Walter Hammon is a great litigator but he chooses to dictate letters and send bills. In my experience Walter Hammon’s focus was dictating letters explaining how things won’t be resolved just yet as he thought it best to let things play out for a few more months. I hope you get better results than I did when I hired Walter Hammon. I finally got better results by hiring another attorney.

Drags out cases to increase billable hours

Avoid Walter Hammon unless your goal is protracted [long] litigation at unending cost. Walter is a skilled litigator, does frequent Court appearances and knows everyone in the Court system. Unfortunately, Walter is not interested in getting you resolution. Walter is interested in billing you ...monthly for as many months or years as he can. Your issue will never progress unless the opposing party gives up or begs to settle. Walter writes many letters and a few motions. Walter is never reachable by phone and doesn't return calls. If you call or write to him you may receive a letter via postal mail about 10 - 20 days later. If you don't pay your bill you will receive a quick call within a few days. Walter keeps low overhead by hiring few unskilled staff who's primary function is to type his letters, act as gatekeepers and collect payments. Walter is rarely available as he keeps very busy by handling more than 40 active cases at a time and billing each case a few thousand dollars per month. He has little interest in resolving your case if he can just keep your case active and continue collecting thousands of dollars from you for writing a few letters each month. If you ask Walter for advice or a legal opinion he will give you a lengthy 'IT DEPENDS' and elaborate on many possible outcomes providing lots of information but nothing actionable or no conclusion while generating a hefty bill. He's not wrong as everything in life depends and there are no guarantees - but that's not why you were paying for expert legal advice as you could have gotten an unclear answer from a 3 year old or a nebulous answer from fortune teller or Facebook groups for a much lower price. If your goal is to delay resolution and maintain the status quo while paying hefty legal fees - Walter is GREAT. If your goal is to have a letter writing campaign Walter is GREAT. If your goal is to get resolution and move on with your life chose another attorney. If your goal is related to getting any type of Court orders move on to another attorney. This review is based on my personal, lengthy and expensive experience.

Screwed my childhood

This man screwed over my mom in divorce court. He pressured my mom into selling our house, so then he could take the money from selling it. To pay him, my mom had to use my college money. He screwed both my mom and I over. Do not go to this guy. He is terrible, and will not help you whatsoever. He wi...ll 100% scam you. Do not hire him.

Not hired

I was referred by a Court affiliated employee to use Walter Hammon. after speaking with Walter Hammon i was not convinced that he would be an asset or provide expertise on my matter. I also chose not to high him because his rates are quite high. I did additional research by speaking with former clien...ts and did not make this hire because I could not find the value present for the money that was being proposed as fees.
