About Laurie
Biography
I was born and raised in Somerville Massachusetts, which is just outside of Boston. I put myself through college by dirving taxi, and selling real estate. I graduated with high honors in accounting, and became a controller for a property management company. Eventually, when the company I worked for moved out of state, I was able to open my own accounting practice.
After one particularly brutal winter, I decided Massachusetts was not the place for me, and sold my practice. I move to California to escape the harsh weather.
Not long after I arrived in Sothern California, I found a law school that would allow me to attend nights. I was raising my children and working as a mortgage broker at that time.
During my law school journey, I received many awards including, but not limited to, Witkin’s awards for having the highest course grades in: Torts; Legal Research; Evidence; and for having the second highest grade point average in my class.
After finishing law school and passing the bar, I opened the Law Offices of Laurie Peters in June 2006. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to grow with a fantastic staff; I could not do my job without them.
