Mr. Wilfert has been involved in criminal law for over a decade and as a former Police Officer, Prosecutor and certified Drug Recognition Expert, he brings a unique and aggressive perspective to the practice of criminal defense and civil litigation.
As a Police Officer, Mr. Wilfert worked the streets for years responding to calls and investigating hundreds if not thousands of criminal matters ranging from DUIs to more serious crimes against people. After graduating from the University of California at Los Angeles, Mr. Wilfert attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles where he received extensive training in Criminal Law and Trial Advocacy. Also during this period, Mr. Wilfert was granted the opportunity to be part of an internship with the Forensic Science/ Cold Case Homicide Unit of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office where he learned firsthand from experienced investigators and prosecutors at that office.
During his career that has followed, Mr. Wilfert eventually became a Deputy District Attorney with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. While there, he spent a substantial amount of time in court prosecuting a large caseload. He also engaged in extensive law and motion practice and negotiated a considerable number of plea agreements. During this portion of Mr. Wilfert’s career, he received various awards from the Ventura County District Attorney for his trial skills.
Now practicing Criminal Defense and Civil Litigation, Mr. Wilfert utilizes his aggressive mentality developed and honed over the years while investigating cases as a police officer and also while litigating as a prosecutor for the benefit of his clients. By bringing together an elite team of experienced former law enforcement professionals, Mr. Wilfert is able to provide his clients with the very best possible results in a quick and efficient manner.

Jarrod Wilfert is a dedicated, experienced and overall excellent lawyer. I have known and worked with Jarrod for over 10 years. Jarrod is a former police officer and prosecutor. Most importantly, he is a talented trial lawyer. When you combine his years of experience, Jarrod can be counted on to identify legal issues that are important to a client's case. Jarrod is dedicated. He care's about his clients and about people in general. Jarrod is constantly thinking and working on his client's cases, and attempting to do what is best for the people who have hired him. When it is time to fight - Jarrod can be counted on to zealously fight for his clients in court. This is critical to getting weak cases dismissed.
