I Hired Mr. Baskin he failed to do his do due diligence in communicating with me for a DUI and wreck-less driving charge before the second hearing, not helpful at all would not return or take any phone calls, i'm facing serious charges, i had to walk into his office too see if i could talk to him, t...his seems like a hobby more than anything, i have hired a new attorney who has 37 years' experience in criminal law he gave me his cell number, further more i lost my credit card and they sent me a email saying my case in on hold, do not hire Mr. baskin.

Joshua Baskin does not care about the case and will only communicate if you are to reach out first. If I ever need legal representation again, I would recommend moving somewhere else. I had my first DUI and he failed to communicate any of the DUI's nor did he care to try to get the charges reduced. O...nly wanted the least amount of work for him possible.

I received my first DUI this summer and found Mr. Baskin on the internet. I had no idea what to expect about the charge, so I spent the first few days attempting to field as much information from Mr. Baskin (my representation) as I could. Over time, Mr. Baskin rarely responded to any messages and... gave off the impression that he was being bothered. Email & text messages sent by Mr. Baskin were often one line. Updates were often prompted by me, the client. When I tried to call his office to speak to any support, it was simply a call center meant for new business/new clients. The messaging from the call center was to "contact your attorney directly." I would soon come to find out that Mr. Baskin would charge nearly $50 a text message in his closing billing statement ... After one month of feeling, "off" I approached a new attorney who was much more direct, interested and communicative. Approximately 6 weeks after hiring Mr. Baskin, I decided to hire a new attorney and notify Mr. Baskin of the change. Mr. Baskin took one week to respond to the notice. I paid $3,000 for the retainer and Mr. Baskin refunded me $831. He attended my first court hearing and initial DMV hearing ... and claimed services rendered were of the amount of ~$2,100. I feel inclined to leave this review for any individual who is lost and doesn't know where to turn. It was a poor experience while I retained Mr. Baskin's services -- and an even worse experience ending the business relationship.

I hired him because I was afraid of loosing my Commercial DL for dui, he seemed like a good option because of ONE single review from a Cdl holder that I saw about him, (my biggest mistake, I know). From the beginning I should have listened to my guts and look somewhere else but fear took the best of... me at the time. He kept postponing my hearings supposedly waiting for evidence from the police about my case, after he got evidence (about a year and a half later) He basically just told me to agree to the charges without even explaining why or even without trying to get me a better deal with DA, I work for a government agency and they require me to have a class A, through the hole process I lost my CDL for one year, and had to be on a restricted license for half a year, luckily I wasn't fired because I am a good employee, but I was demoted and still can't get any promotions since I have to clear all this situation before. Now when I got convicted, the DMV suspended my license again, YES So after I got that letter in the mail, he hesitantly said, (after trying every way to reaching for him and not getting a call back) he would call the mandatory action unit himself, as of this moment I am STILL waiting for his response, I called the mandatory action unit myself and I am in the process of getting a restricted license on my own with an IID installed in my personal car, calling the mandatory action unit wasn't as hard, (you just gotta leave your number and they will call you back) so honestly I don't think he even tried to call them at all, throughout my case I sent him a bunch of substantial information about me, my certificates at work, and letters of support from valuable people in the community. He requested this and I thought he was going to try and get a better deal for me, but that wasn't the case. At the end I think I just got a pretty standard sentence. The mandatory action unit told me that a lawyer can't do anything about the whole situation either, I would have appreciated if he had told me this on the first place, he HAS NOT got back to me with a response about my driver's license. If you are in the process of looking for a lawyer please ASK them beforehand what can be done about your situation and just ask them to be honest about what they have done for persons in the SAME situation. I probably was better off getting taking the heat from the beginning without hiring him. Looking back at how unreachable he was since the beginning and how he hasn't been able to get back to me with a simple answer, gives an idea of how he treated my case and others with the same situation.
