Houman Fakhimi

I wrote a detailed review a couple years ago. I had (still have) documentation that would expose Houman as the entitled, lazy liar he is. I paid his entire retainer of $7500 up front and in one payment. Instantly, his motivation to fight a fairly simple case of giving a false name to the police was g...one. The case was continued 6 or 7 times. The judge insisted that there would be resolve at the last hearing. Houman didn’t show to court that day. He sent an associate who literally knew NOTHING about the case. He showed up after lunch. The judge would not continue despite my attorney’s absence, as well as the DA having a sub in her place that day. My daughter got screwed and plead to a felony false impersonation. I wrote a review years ago because it sickened me that I’d trusted him after reading so many glowing reviews on him. Houman denied my review to be posted. So I asked Avvo why he was able to prevent my experience with him from being made known. Avvo told me that he denied I was ever a client. So I provided the signed Retainer, as well as my receipt for payment, along with proof that he was the attorney on record for every hearing on the case. Avvo chose to protect him and not post it. I’m pretty sure this one will be blocked too. It’s somewhat funny, because the few reviews about his inadequacies that made the cut all have a personal reply from him. Each time, he rants about any tiny thing his client failed to do and how Houman did no wrong. I knew that wouldn’t have happened to me with my review. Houman KNOWS he took my money and gave my daughter and me the run around. Her case wasn’t as eye catching as others he had in other counties at the time. My daughter has a felony on her record and spent months in jail for using her cousin’s name after getting pulled over. She admitted her true name within 5 minutes of the lie. The officers involved stated that she did. The charge is a wobbler and began as a misdemeanor. Houman failed so badly that it ended up a felony. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. I try to get this situation known. The attorneys on Avvo are allowed to pick and choose which reviews will be posted. So don’t make a decision based on Avvo reviews.
