Houman Fakhimi

I wrote a detailed review a couple years ago. I had (still have) documentation that would expose Houman as the entitled, lazy liar he is. I paid his entire retainer of $7500 up front and in one payment. Instantly, his motivation to fight a fairly simple case of giving a false name to the police was g...one. The case was continued 6 or 7 times. The judge insisted that there would be resolve at the last hearing. Houman didn’t show to court that day. He sent an associate who literally knew NOTHING about the case. He showed up after lunch. The judge would not continue despite my attorney’s absence, as well as the DA having a sub in her place that day. My daughter got screwed and plead to a felony false impersonation. I wrote a review years ago because it sickened me that I’d trusted him after reading so many glowing reviews on him. Houman denied my review to be posted. So I asked Avvo why he was able to prevent my experience with him from being made known. Avvo told me that he denied I was ever a client. So I provided the signed Retainer, as well as my receipt for payment, along with proof that he was the attorney on record for every hearing on the case. Avvo chose to protect him and not post it. I’m pretty sure this one will be blocked too. It’s somewhat funny, because the few reviews about his inadequacies that made the cut all have a personal reply from him. Each time, he rants about any tiny thing his client failed to do and how Houman did no wrong. I knew that wouldn’t have happened to me with my review. Houman KNOWS he took my money and gave my daughter and me the run around. Her case wasn’t as eye catching as others he had in other counties at the time. My daughter has a felony on her record and spent months in jail for using her cousin’s name after getting pulled over. She admitted her true name within 5 minutes of the lie. The officers involved stated that she did. The charge is a wobbler and began as a misdemeanor. Houman failed so badly that it ended up a felony. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. I try to get this situation known. The attorneys on Avvo are allowed to pick and choose which reviews will be posted. So don’t make a decision based on Avvo reviews. A couple years ago, I had my previous employer fire me based on my health. I immediately reached out to Houman and his team and they welcomed my case. It was a long journey, but Houman and his team kept in contact with me consistently. I even was able to text him, often, asking about any updates from... his end. He always kept me in the loop and I was never a step behind. His paralegals also were amazing. When the case neared its end, they spent a lot of time with me in sorting out through the finalization of my case. I had great faith in them and I would genuinely recommend Houman and his team to anyone. Filing a lawsuit and handling the legalities can be extremely time consuming, but I never had a doubt that I would not see the light at the end of the tunnel and seek justice. I retained Mr. Fakhimi in January of 2018. At the time, I had solely been contacted by law enforcement, but no charges. I was asked to come in to station to answer questions and I was very confused on what to do, so I retained Mr. Fakhimi. After retaining this attorney, communication with the police ...department was done by the attorney, except I was booked in July of 2018 and released on OR in the same month because I had to obtain another attorney. When my family contacted Mr. Fakhimi, they were told by his staff that I did not retain him and they offered no assistance. After being released, I immediately reached out to Mr. Fakhimi and told him I had possession of the police report, which was updated to include the calls out to Mr. Fakhimi and his associates and reflected no calls were returned, which resulted in fugitive task force being sent out to collect me. I explained my family called his office while I was incarcerated and that I wanted a return of the retainer since he failed to represent me on my case. He returned an email stating it was non-refundable. Did not offer to rectify the situation whatsoever. Would not recommend this attorney.
