All they were supposed to to do was get my child support case transferred to the city where the originated, which they said was no problem to represent me, and common. Day before court, they are telling me I need to drive 5-6 hours to be in court. They forgot they were supposed to represent me there,... and the whole reason I spent $1200+ for them to do that. They ended up not getting the case transferred, and my child support increasing by 316%. They were very unprofessional, as I had to fill the same papers over, because apparently someone got fired, and my info wasn't passed on properly. It was handled by lower level people, and sold me on what they were going to do for me, then just filled up all the hours, to give me a refund of $47... Worst experience for my if my life, dealing with this group. So disappointed.

I had contacted this firm to try and possibly help me with a child support case. They were ever so eager to get my $250 retainer. Once I left a deposit, an appointment was made with an attorney the following day. This attorney was 30 minutes late calling me, I had to actually call them to see if they... forgot about me, he finally called me once I reminded them. We spoke for only 30 minutes, and all he told me was that I should barrow money to pay off my ex-wife and that was all the strategy he had? Give me a break, I thought of that years ago. So seeing they didn't give me any advice and couldn’t do anything for me, and that they offer a one hour case evaluation and up to 30 minute free consultation, I asked for then to refund my deposit. After three days of no refund I finally received a call from their office manager telling me that they were going to keep the $250, and that I was given (which I wasn't) legal advice in their mind that was worth the $250 and that I was lucky, they normally charge $500 an hour? Never again will I call this agency.

They assigned me a 4 year licensed attorney. There were so many words misspelled in my declaration. I complained to my attorney, he talked to me on the phone and asked me where to fix the misspellings, then they charged me 1 hour at attorney rate to fix the mistakes they made. A new attorney who did ...not read my case went with me to my court. While I asked supervised visitation for the abusive Dad, the new attorney told the judge that Mom understood how Dad missed the children.

I was extremely pleased with how I was handled when I first called this office for some legal assistance with my case. The receptionist answered and seemed very in tune with my needs and transferred me to another women who was going to assist me further. When she came on the other end of the... phone, she was very highly knowledgable and she listened to me as I explained my situation. My ex-girlfriend and I broke up a couple of years ago, and I hadn't been in contact with her since we broke up. Just a few days ago, DCSS served me with child support papers for a child that I had no knowledge even existed. I didn't even know how or even where to begin in dealing with this. I contacted Schank & Associates for some help and was given the information and the guidance that I needed. I really felt that the information i was given would be helpful and it helped me understand the procedure and process that i was about to encounter. I had no idea how complex a case could be when it's involving a child. All the necessary steps that need to be taken and how complicated the court system could be if you don't know what your doing. It was overwhelming. I owe the person who assistance me an who was very knowledgable and highly informative with what I needed. I am giving my appreciation and thanks for helping me understand and providing me the information I needed in order to understand what I needed to do. I hired them to fight my custody case and paid over $6000 and saw no results. The custody resulted even worse. I had a young Asian girl representing me. She was very immature and spent most of her time arguing with me. I felt as if I hired a firm to fight against me. She believed the other party and ...tried falsely accusing me of hurting my daughter. I couldn't believe this. I gave up. These attorneys stressed me out and I gave up. It was a nightmare. I hope people read my review and decide to go elsewhere. Even representing yourself would be the best choice.
