Eric W. Ching

Review of Ching & Seto Law I recently contacted Ching & Seto Law by phone, and it took an excessively long time for someone to answer. When a male voice finally came on the line, I explained that I had been referred to this firm and wanted to arrange a consultation to discuss my case. I was asked ...numerous questions about my situation, and after a considerable amount of time, he asked where and when it would be convenient for me to come into the office, and which office I would prefer, San Diego or Indian Wells. An appointment was set up with Mr. Eric Ching, and I was given their address in Indian Wells. When I arrived at the law office at the designated time, it was located in a business complex. I walked into an empty facility with little activity. Finally, someone approached me and asked if they could help. I told them I had an appointment with Mr. Eric Ching. The person responded that they did not know of a Mr. Ching and that I had the wrong address. I pointed to the sign on the outer door which read "Ching & Seto Law." I was then told to have a seat and just wait for Mr. Ching. I waited for over 20 minutes and decided to call Mr. Ching's office. Again, it was a lengthy wait before someone came on the line. I asked to speak with Mr. Ching and was told he was not available. I explained that I was at the office waiting for Mr. Ching as I had a 3:30 appointment. They had no idea where Mr. Ching was and said they would have him call me. I am still waiting. No return telephone call, no explanation, no apology, NOTHING. This is the most unprofessional law firm, or business, that I have ever encountered, and I have dealt with many professionals over the years. I would definitely NOT recommend this firm to anyone! Eric is a great attorney. We retained Eric as our counsel for our mortgage transaction. In short, he was superb and everyone should retain him. To be more specific, his knowledge of real estate laws, especially the CA building and safety code(s) helped us tremendously. His replies were always in de...tail and he addressed all my concerns, including any hypos I presented to him. It's imperative that you work with an attorney that is knowledgeable - but more importantly, it is a must to find an attorney that is humane and doesn't just focus on the retainer or billable fees. Well, I was lucky because Eric was that attorney.

I contacted Mr. Ching with an emergency situation: a 3-day pay or quit notice issued to my ex-husband who is in coma in hospital. He returned my call in about an hour and answered all my questions in depth. He was informative, knew current changes to law regarding COVID-19 and provided excellent advi...ce. Finding a good lawyer is a very hard thing to do and having a bad one could ruin your life. We found Eric Ching online at a time when I really needed someone calm, knowledgeable and affordable to help me. Eric turned out to be a gem. After a Small Claims Court hearing that I lost he guided me t...hrough the entire process in a calm and professional manner. He turned a nasty experience into something more manageable and less stressful. I would seriously urge you to hire Eric if you are looking for a lawyer who is honest, competent, diligent and incredibly efficient - he even emailed me on a Sunday. Eric also gave me a precious piece of information that really cheered me up, he told me that if someone takes you to Court that record is on file forever, whether you win or loose the Hearing. As my case was with an ex-tenant from now on every prospective landlord will have access to this file when they run a check to decide whether or not to accept this person as a tenant. This makes me feel very good as California landlords have very few ways to protect themselves from tenants who abuse the system and get away with it. I hope to never need to hire an attorney again but if I do I will be calling Eric Ching.
