Biography
Partner Lauren Angelos focuses her practice on the representation of juveniles and adults accused of misdemeanors and felonies in the criminal justice system, as well as DUI and traffic matters. Her passion for justice and holding police officers and prosecutors accountable makes her an unparalleled advocate.
A native of Santa Barbara, California, Ms. Angelos received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Pepperdine University of Malibu, California, graduating with Honors. Thereafter, she moved to San Diego, California to attend Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctorate. During her time in law school, Ms. Angelos worked with both the San Diego Office of the Primary Public Defender and the Office of the Alternate Public Defender, handling adult and juvenile matters for clients in the Central Misdemeanor Unit, Adult Felony Division, and Juvenile Delinquency Division, graduating with Pro Bono Honors for providing well over 400 hours of free legal work to clients.
In 2013 Ms. Angelos was offered an associate attorney position with G. Cole Casey, where she gained unparalleled experience and a keen understanding of the serious collateral consequences that can follow from even the most simple misdemeanor conviction, such as the potential loss of a job, career, security clearance, teaching credential, professional license, in addition to significant jail time. In 2015, Ms. Angelos founded Angelos Law Group, a general criminal defense practice. Her specialized knowledge and understanding of the nuances of the law allows her clients to take advantage of collaborative and specialty courts such as Mental Health Diversion, Misdemeanor Military Diversion, and Veterans Court, which allows for appropriate mental health or substance abuse treatment instead of criminal sanctions, reducing the likelihood of recidivism and the catastrophic collateral consequences that result from a criminal conviction.
Ms. Angelos also handles post-conviction matters, such as Probation Violations, Motions for Early Termination of Probation, and Expungements. She is licensed to practice law in all state courts in the state of California and the United States District Court, Southern District.

It is important for people to read all opinions and critiques regarding the experiences of others when searching for the right fit for an attorney. That being said, it is also very important for clients to be realistic about their case and the likely outcome - based on their specific set of facts. I think yours is a great learning experience for all. If you recall, you came to me and were adamant that the police never got a chemical sample from you. I accepted your case, relying on your claims that the officers involved either did not perform their duties properly, or there was some other procedure a problem with your case. As you will also recall, that was not the situation at all. The harsh reality was that you violated felony probation by drinking alcohol, you further violated felony probation - and California law - by driving a vehicle at over two times the legal blood alcohol concentration limit. You further violated the terms of your probation and California law by driving on a suspended license. Unfortunately, your case left me little to work with and the prosecutor saw no reason to give you a pass, considering the facts of your case and your prior criminal history. I wish you all the best in the future.

Wonderful!
Lauren handled my son's DUI. He has Cystic Fibrosis and was trying to get through school and she was very compassionate and helped him with these issues so that he could complete his sentence while maintaining school and hospitalizations. I highly recommend Lauren!
