Having a DUI and the looming consequences weighing on your mind is horribly stressful. It was my first DUI and I had no idea what to expect, what the process is and what punishments I would face. I met with several lawyers around sd and was unimpressed to say the least, but to be honest I didn't know... what to expect, I had never been in this position before. I booked a meeting with cole and he came in to meet me on a Saturday. I explained my unique circumstances and he listened intently and gave his opinion. He was the only lawyer I felt who was not only listening but trying to find a way to get me out of this. No detail was too small, he was engaged and passionate and made me feel confident that if there was a way to get me off he would find it. My unique DUI involved prescription drugs and alcohol and not only did Cole have experience defending people in my situation but he wanted to know if I was having troubles with it or if I had a problem. It was a small thing but it felt like he wanted to know I was in a good place mentally and emotionally even before he took a dollar. I was slightly hesitant about the price until I realized what it included. DMV court, criminal court, all meetings, coordinating Experts for trial, expungement, insurance reference and the list goes on. When I compared the costs to other lawyers, each of these were billed separately and so would add up to the same if not more than Cole. Best of all is he was hungry to defend me, the other lawyers were all thinking pleading guilty, Cole was ready to go to trial and ready to win. He knew my arresting officer, the prosecutor of my trial, more importantly her boss, the judge and just about everybody throughout the process. His team was in constant communication with me through every step. While his staff handled different aspects of my case ( they were great as well) it was cole meeting with me, calling me and more importantly standing by me in court. I saw one of the other lawyers I almost went with while in court and the disparity between their professionalism, confidence and even suit just reminded me what a great decision I had made. We were set to go to trial when my expert fell through (at no fault of cole). Cole had another top notch expert ready to go to bat the next day. We ended up settling for a reckless driving ( no other lawyer even thought that was possible). Cole called and made sure that was what I wanted and then made the deal. I am not exaggerating when I say Coles influence and connections directly resulted in the settlement of this case. Cole offered to cover the expert witness trial prep fees because he knew I was in financial straits at the time. I couldn't be happier with the out come and am waiting to get this expunged off my record ( another feature included in the initial price.) if I just wanted to plead guilty I might have gone with another cheaper lawyer. Cole explained the law to me and showed me I had a fighting chance and looking back on the trial and setup I am so relieved I did not tighten my wallet because this was a huge crossroad in my life and with the money I saved from my reduced charge I ended up paying less than if I went with a cheaper lawyer and plead guilty. I still recommend talking to other lawyers, but if you aren't visiting and seriously considering Cole Casey then you will seriously regret it.

Mr. Casey was kind yet direct and gave no B.S. He was reassuring and incredibly knowledgeable in all things DUI . His calm demener and direct way of dealing with things was refreshing . I hired Cole after I already had a different attorney who basically sat on my case and did nothing for almost two years. Cole took over my case a week or two before trial, and wasted no time getting ready for war in the courtroom. From the moment I hired Cole, I knew I was dealing with something... else entirely. He was a professional of the highest order, and his firm was a tight operation. As an attorney myself, I hope that I can one day have my own firm running with such efficiency. Which brings me to his staff of clerks, associates, receptionists-- they were all incredible. They didn't just take care of my legal matter, but they took care of me as a person, understanding that I was in a very stressful position. As for his legal acumen, Cole knew the process inside and out. He practices in one area, and he is simply an expert in it. In my view, he has mastered his craft. This isn't even debatable. At trial, Cole was brilliant. He chopped the expert witness into dust, and made her testimony seem silly and farcical. His style of cross-examining was so precise and balanced, that other attorneys in the building were coming in to watch him perform. It was pretty cool to see. Mr. Casey is a great trial attorney, and an absolute expert in his field. I will continue to send him clients whenever the situation presents itself because I know that clients are in good hands when he is representing them. If it sounds like I'm gushing, it's because I'm forever grateful for his efforts on my behalf, and he deserves nothing less than high praise.
