Christopher Robert Abernathy

I have been a client of Mr. Abernathy’s for several years. He has handled child custody matters for me and several members of my family. I decided to use Mr. Abernathy’s services after I first observed him speak before the court on the behalf of another. His knowledge of the law, his cool demeanor... and his competent legal prowess had a number of clients asking for his business card as he left the court room. I recently had to seek the services of Mr. Abernathy’s office for a less than cooperative divorce. His office was very professional but most important, they were efficient. Mr. Abernathy displayed the same professionalism as his office and did not try to mislead or misdirect me in order to draw out our time and fees together. He drew from his vast experience and court house knowledge to inform me of a likely disposition scenario. This mimicked what I had expected or wanted as my divorce dissolution. I was more than pleased with the outcome of my divorce, the services of Mr. Abernathy and his staff. I was so impressed with Mr. Abernathy’s abilities; I referred him to many Officers from my Police Dept. Those who have used his services have also had a more than positive outcome to their divorce and custody matters. Mr. Abernathy’s services didn’t end with my divorce. Several years after, when my daughter turned 18, He continued to represent me. Mr. Abernathy reviewed my status and was able to get me a reduction in my child support and was able to do it without me going to court. I would strongly recommend and still do recommend Mr. Abernathy’s family law services to anyone in need of an aggressive and talented attorney. He is the most competent and experienced family law attorney that I’ve seen and would hate to be on the opposition side of his representation.

I referred myself to Mr. Abernathy after watching him in court represent another person while waiting for my case to be heard. I was shocked at how well he was able to maneuver the court and destroy some false allegations that the other side had made in an effort to get more money (child support). ...I was a severe underdog in my case and after being fleeced by another attorney it was tough to hire another person but all I can tell you is I hope more people find Mr. Abernathy first. When I hired Mr. Abernathy the opposing counsel and judge pretty much laughed at us because I was in such bad shape with many false allegations against me and keeping my child from me in an effort to get more support. Mr. Abernathy proceeded to expose all of the false allegations swiftly and effectively and the opposing side buckled after an hour on the stand of story after story being properly pointed out that did not match up. At any point in this situation you need an attorney like Mr. Abernathy that is going to aggressively approach every situation at hand. Even if the opposing side acts calm when they are liable to try any tactic to win. I had the right man on my team to say all the right court room objections at all the right times and I had no clue why or exactly what they meant but the judge upheld them which means he knew exactly what he was doing. He is prompt punctual and handles your time management with fairness. The ex had the nerve to take several stabs at me again over the years and failed every time with my credit going to having a great lawyer that I trust and that gets the job done. Mr. Abernathy handled my divorce and custody case for over a year and a half. Prior to finding Mr. Abernathy, I had another attorney who wasted so much of my money just writing me letters, sitting around waiting in court and getting my case continued. Mr. Abernathy won't write you long letters and he... won't hold your hand, but he will get results. If your case is getting postponed, (which happens a LOT), he gets that done in under an hour. My prior attorney would find a way to make that process last for 4 hours, which really adds up and pads the legal bills. Mr. Abernathy really shines in the area of negotiating with opposing counsel and in making convincing arguments to the judge. He has all your documents scanned and on his Ipad, which he uses in court. He can pull up anything needed on the spot, including current case law, etc, to make a point. I noticed he is well respected in the court room by both judges and other attorneys. He is able to get your case heard quickly during calendar call. He was able to stand up to my husband's slimy attorney and did not let him get away with anything! I saw other attorneys going to Mr. Abernathy for advice in the hallway. My prior attorney ran up my bill by having long conversations with me and writing to me almost daily, but got nothing done. Mr. Abernathy will not be calling you or writing to you daily, but he will fight for you in court. In the end, he got me SOLE legal custody of my children and a fair divorce outcome. There is no way I could have gotten the result I did without him. He knows how to "read" the judge and how to handle the trial. He did all this for about 1/3 of the average monthly bills I was getting from my previous letter-writing, hand holding, ineffective attorney. Mr. Abernathy will aggressively fight for your interests and will do so in the most efficient way, which is all that matters in the end. I would highly recommend him to anyone going through divorce or custody issues. If you want to skip the hand holding and long conversations (and the expense of having them) and get actual results, this is the guy for the job!

He is well prepared when you go to court, very smart and informed, but he does not like to be bothered, you are not allowed to ask him questions, will give you short and lacking answers. can be demeaning at times. Too much money to pay for his attitude. Does not listen to you, and often hears what yo...u have to say and then gets it wrong on the paperwork. I would not use him again or recommend him to anyone.
