I recently got cited for reckless driving in the San Fernando area by a cop that seemed to completely not be interested in what I had to say about the matter. I had to swerve out of a lane to avoid a car in my blind spot which made the cop believe that i was driving recklessly. In any case, I didn’...t realize that this was a misdemeanor vs. a regular infraction, and just went about it casually thinking i will have to go through traffic school to get it off my record. Luckily, I realized just in time that this was a more serious issue, and it dawned on me that i will be needing the help of an experienced lawyer in the matter. Luckily for me, i called Greg Caplan and Anita Patel to represent me. From the very beginning, both Greg and Anita were extremely pleasing and friendly to work with. They were able to accommodate me at the very last minute and were willing to take my case. They both walked me through the procedure, my options and the approach that they will be taking in my case. They helped manage my expectations around how this was going to work and my involvement in the procedure. Anita represented me in the courtroom on my appointed date, and was able to get a second hearing date (based on my work schedule agreed in advance). At the next hearing I was prepped in advance and was kept on “stand by” while she worked with the opposing counsel to reduce the misdemeanor charge to a couple of infractions keeping my record clean. She was able to confirm with me over the phone my rights and enter the final plea without ever going to court. I couldn’t have asked for a more convenient solution to the matter. She mailed all the necessary paperwork, and the docket to my home along with a brief summary of the proceedings and a reminder to pay my agreed amount to the court. It is exceptionally hard to find a lawyer who is not only nice, polite, caring and pleasant but also competent and performs miracles. That is Anita. Before I hired Anita I read all the reviews, I said to myself there is something wrong, this is too good to be true, one person can't have all these 100...% excellent reviews. Well, fortunately I was wrong, now I believe all these reviews because I am writing one and sharing my experience with others. Anita she didn't only went the extra mile for us, she went the extra 100 miles and performed a job way above anyone's expectations. On a self-confesed petty theft charge which the DA office filed for a solid misdemeanor charges, Anita was able to get, yes a dismissal from the DA Office even before the court date, with just some community service and zero impact on my records. This is not just being lucky, After short three days from being hired Anita prepared a very powerful and conviencing defense package to the DA Office that the DA Office not only reduced it to infraction which what they offered originally but they accepted Anita fight and grantted a dismissal. Two families were involved in this petty theft charges, each had a lawyer, actually the high powered attorney who represented the other family didn't even contacted the DA Office before the court date, came in one hour late to the court and asked for the charge to be reduced to infraction, because she claimed it is faster and less time consuming, didn't even think about a dismissal, because unlike Anita she had no defense package prepared for her client to ask for a dismissal. The only reason the other family lucked out and got a dismissal because the DA decided to be fair and treat both families the same. Effectively speaking, due to Anita's hard and creative work she didn't only saved our family but saved the other family too despite the fact they had a high end powerful attorney who was willing to accept just to lower the charge for his client. Now if that is not a miracle and going the extra 100 miles, I don't know what a miracle is. After the court was over while the other family's attorney was no where to be seen, Anita stayed with us as a member of the family sharing our happy moments and relief. After that she personally came with us to the community service office to make sure I have a good place to spend my community service, which was a local golf club! Don't be fooled like me by high end attorneys with fancy names,offices, awards and certificates filling their walls from side to side, they don't have the time for you, they will only show up on court date and ask the minimum from the DA Office. Plus they have so many junior staff with very little experience working on your case, you will be lucky if you get the main guy fighting for you and representing you. Anita's past experience as a District Attorney really shows in her techniques and lawyering. She knows what it takes to work with the DA's offices because she was one herself. she is a nice and soft spoken person but fights like a polite tiger, knows how and where to bite!

Anita Patel provided me with excellent representation in my case. I was initially charged with both possession with intent and transport of a significant amount of controlled substances. She is a former narcotics prosecutor and very familiar with the ins and outs of the legal system. Having been a fo...rmer prosecutor, she knows and has a good rapport with the District Attorney involved with the case, and was able to get him to agree to allow treatment instead of the year in jail that the city had wanted. This outcome will allow me to make this a positive turning point in my life, instead of just wasting away in jail and being exposed to unhealthy conditions and violence. Anita was very attentive and communicative throughout the process and was able to answer my questions, and seemed to genuinely care about my well-being and the outcome of this case.

I had been charged with felony burglary, and she was able to obtain a reduction in the charges to misdemeanor petty theft. Case represented: Violation of probation (misdemeanor criminal offense), bench-warrant for arrest with a bail of nearly $50,000, with various extenuating complications Anita Patel performed what seemed to be impossible. She was able to quash my ~$50,000 bench-warrant and had the judge extend my ...community service date of completion. This was no easy task, given that the judge (for whatever reason) did not like my 'disposition' or my persona, and was thoroughly unimpressed and disinterested in the documents that demonstrated (what I had thought) would be compelling reasons to quash the arrest warrant and grant the extension. Initially, it seemed as though the judge had already made up his mind (NOT in my favor) and appeared extremely reluctant to grant an extension or quash the warrant. Ms. Patel exhibited sincere concern, and after much debate, was somehow able to reason with the judge and convinced him to (albeit rather begrudgingly) quash the bench-warrant and grant the extension. I have never seen an attorney express such sincere concern on behalf of their client, and if represented by my former ultra-high priced attorney, I would have likely been incarcerated on the spot. Before entering court, Ms. Patel and I were both entirely unaware that the judge had a strong pre-existing grievance against me/my case, yet she was able to rapidly and effectively adapt her strategy to suit this unexpectedly hostile environment. Ms. Patel was not only highly adept and professional, but also very personable, understanding and sincere (something I’ve yet to encounter with previous attorneys). Her prices were more than reasonable, far less than my previous ‘high-profile’ attorney, yet vastly superior in quality/care/outcome. I would highly recommend her services and am still quite amazed as to the favorable outcome of the hearing (particularly in light of a unexpectedly adversarial judge). The money could not have been better spent: A five-star rating without question.
