Scott Kosner

I’m very disappointed with his service. Our contract is over July 2022 but I’m still getting invoice from his office. The reason why I had to change Mr Scott to my new lawyer because it was very difficult to communicate with him. He won’t reply my emails/texts, I always had to call his paralegal in...stead. This office is very disorganized and often forgets a lot of things. They also made mistakes filing my old FL142 and FL150 even after I submitted them the new updated version which I had to amend those with my new attorney. I understand mistake happened but they charged me for their mistake and it is still causing me inconvenience and costed me a lot to amend these documents with the court. Considering this, I asked his office not to charge me the remaining amount which is $700. I sent their office email on Feb 17, 2023. But of course, no one replied me as usual. I hope he reads my review and respond to me. I will update my review once I receive the response.

Waste of money, case is still not finished and took whole retainer fee and still wants more money for a simple visitation order. Lawyer will talk non sense to rack up his $400 hourly charge about nothing that has to do with your case. Been a month since our court hearing and still waiting on papers t...o sign to finalized everything.

This review is not based solely on the one day that Scott and I spent at the courthouse for my divorce trial. This review is primarily based on the 5 weeks that I hired the Kosner firm to work with me up until the trial date. It was not a pleasant experience. I found his staff unprofessional and r...ude. Scott is responsible for the actions of his staff and the service they provide. I attempted many, many times to work with Scott directly, but was denied. I hired Scott in 7/2018 for my divorce trial. Our initial 'free' consultation was brief. He seemed very friendly so I hired and paid him to represent me at my divorce trial. However, I was unaware that I would neither meet him nor have any communication with him prior to the trial. I would not have hired him knowing that. Scott left on vacation the very next day after our phone consultation and did not return until the night before my trial. I never met my own attorney. I had no idea who was managing my case. I was not kept informed or updated. I was very shocked, disappointed and regretful. After posting this review, Scott himself wrote me an e-mail stating that he cannot give ‘limited scope’ clients the same service as his full time or retained clients. It is true – I did receive limited service. Again, I was not informed of this prior to hiring him. I will not go into detail about the actual trial itself, only a brief outcome. Scott arrived at the courthouse the morning of the trial and we met in person for the first time. He had a trial brief and an exhibit list that I had not seen prior to that moment. I was never given a copy of the documents that I hired and paid him for. Scott promised to have all of the new documents to the court several weeks before the next trial. That too did not happen. The documents arrived to court a few days before the trial while his secretary and I scrambled to get it done. Several documents were even rejected because they could not be read. The first trial date scheduled for August was postponed by the judge 4 weeks until September. I was relieved that at least now I could actually work and communicate with the attorney I hired. However that too never happened. I was never contacted by Scott the entire 4 weeks leading up to my trial in September. I tried to contact Scott many, many times via phone, text, e-mail, etc. I was not permitted to speak with him by staff member Stephanie. I had to drive 30 miles to their office in Los Angeles to request a brief meeting to provide even more paperwork. When the judge asked for images I had provided to Scott, they were not in the exhibit list. My Ex was not served with the exhibits either. I did not feel like a valued client. I was frustrated and confused how this could happen from a law firm with such good reviews. I am still in court battling the same issues Scott addressed at my original trial last year. Although my Ex was not granted a ‘completely new’ trial, all but 2 issues have been re-opened for litigation and I am still in court now with an exceptional new attorney on those issues. It has been 11 months since I worked with the Kosner firm and I have already been back to court to re-litigate the same issues 4 times this year in ‘short cause trials’. I reached out to Scott for further assistance with this last November, however not surprisingly they did not reply. After the trial was over, I was asked by Scott to submit some ‘positive’ reviews. I did write him a review on AVVO, however I also provided feedback directly to Scott regarding the negative experience I had with his staff and how it reflects poorly on his law firm. Not surprisingly, I never heard anything back. I have now been strongly advised by Scott to have all of my reviews pulled from multiple websites. My experience with the Kosner firm as a whole was unpleasant and my voice was not heard. As a paying client, my voice DID and still DOES deserve to be heard.
