A great trial lawyer who knows how to get the best result!

Mr. K represented me in a trial. I was in jail because I couldn't make bail. He came to see me to discuss my case. He explained all the evidence to me and helped me understand the good and bad parts of my case. He gave me all the information I needed to decide how I wanted to proceed in my case. He c...ame to visit me in jail frequently to help prepare me for trial. At trial, he was great and was able to get the case dismissed.

Excellent Lawyer-one of the best!

David is great. He appeared in court the same day my family called, even before we were able to pay him. He jumped on my case, started investigating and reviewing the DA's evidence right away. He came to visit me regularly in jail, he explained the evidence against me and what he thought we could do ...to fight the case. But he was most concerned with what I wanted to do. I never felt he was pushing me to do what I did not want. He helped me make a decision and then worked hard to get the best result. He worked out a great deal for me that got me out of jail right away and back home to my family. Any time I've had a question, he's been right there to answer it for me.

Beware of this attorney.

This attorney was assigned to me for a federal drug trafficking case about 7 years ago and did not do anything for me. He was impossible to get in touch with and came to see me only 2 times during the 5 months I was awaiting trail. He answered very few of my questions and I never really understood wh...at was happening with my case because he never told me anything about it. I ended up taking a deal for federal prison time (I recently got out) because I didn't trust this attorney or his ability to represent me in a trial. I wished I had listened to my family and fired this attorney and asked for another when they told me to because I was very unhappy with what he did for me.

Do not hire this lawyer!

DO NOT HIRE THIS LAWYER WHATEVER YOU DO! I did and it was a huge mistake. I paid Mr. Kaloyanides $18,000 to take my case and it was a complete waste of money. I honestly believe I would received better results if I had a public defender representing me. This lawyer was more concerned about how he loo...ked in the eyes of the DA and the judge than he was about getting results for me, his client. Mr. Kaloyanides failed to keep me informed of the significant changes to my case, and did not tell me when additional charges had been filed against me. I was incarcerated for the duration of my case in the county jail and had no means of staying informed myself of these changes. This lawyer was too preoccupied with other cases he had going as evidenced by the fact that he twice had to reschedule my court date do to his being in court for other cases he had in addition to mine. I sincerely felt Mr. Kaloyanides had too much going on with his other cases to give my case the proper attention it needed and I told him this numerous times. My only means of communicating with this lawyer was via snail mail since I was locked up the entire time and he unfortunately was fine with that. The handful of times I attempted to call Mr. Kaloyanides collect from the jail I was unsuccessful every single time. Three different times after three different court dates Mr. Kaloyanides said he would visit me in jail before our next court date to discuss my case and all three times he flaked and was a no-show. When I complained about this in the many letters I wrote him Mr. Kaloyanides admitted he had a lot going on with his other cases and apologized for not doing as he promised. Mr. Kaloyanides failed to do any of the few things I asked him to do regarding my case for reasons unknown to me. I asked him to ask specific questions during the preliminary trial and he refused. I asked him to investigate certain (simple) things regarding my case and he did not. I asked him to make certain counter-offers to the DA when we were trying to negotiate a plea deal for my case and he did not. Perhaps my requests were too petty or below him to honor I really do not know. Mr. Kaloyanides said he would send me an invoice every month showing what I was being charged for in terms of fees and he never once did that. He also told me during my initial consultation that he did not charge fees for commuting to and from court for my case but this proved to be untrue because once I did finally receive an invoice after my case was over for services rendered he had charged me numerous times for the time it took him to commute to and from court. Mr. Kaloyanides proved himself not be a man of his word numerous times unfortunately. Finally, I want you to know that I asked Mr. Kaloyanides time after time after time to provide me with the specifics of our plea deal with the DA so I would know ahead of time all that I would be pleading to. Mr. Kaloyanides told me the plea deal would include certain things but on the day I was to sign I was completely blindsided by a plea deal which included 3 more charges than my lawyer informed me it would. Mr. Kaloyanides said he did not know until that morning that the additional charges would be part of the plea deal but quite frankly I just don't believe him I'm sorry. My case had been going on for more than 16 months and I just could not believe that the DA did not decide until the morning I was to sign what charges would be included in the deal. Mr. Kaloyanides proved himself to be untrustworthy, unreliable, and unresponsive to all the needs of me his client. Do not make the same mistake I did and continue looking for a good criminal defense attorney. I had a very negative experience with this lawyer and wish I had hired someone else.

While not all clients are happy with results in criminal cases, this is not an accurate review of what transpired in this case, it is not a factual statement of the proceedings nor how the case developed.

D.J. Kaloyanides - Recommended

Just prior to our son's case heading to trial, we terminated the previous attorney we had hired due to a lack of committment, communication, trustworthiness and responsiveness. During our search for a new attorney, we narrowed down the search to three lawyers. In the process of arranging meeting with... and interviewing these individuals, the other two attorneys immediately asked "How will you be paying for the services?" followed by their consultation fee. We scheduled our meeting with David. My husband was only available on Sunday's. David not only agreed to meet with us on a "Sunday" but over a "Holiday week-end". David was very attentative and showed much concern. We were not pressured by David to sign the retainer. In fact it was quite the opposite as he suggested we take time to discuss and think about our meeting before moving forward. We were very impressed by David's professionalism, we decided to hire him. David did exactly as he described in regards to his work ethics with us. He kept us fully informed on direct court related matters and on the investigative progress. His investigator, who was recommended to us by David, was a reflection of David himself. David's relationship standards and level of dedication to his clients is very high. He is thorough, attentative and caring. Our son was extremely pleased with the conclusion and feels that had it not been for David, he would not have had a second chance at life. He was truly a blessing! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND David J. Kaloyanides!!!!

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I am David's wife and an attorney who has worked on several cases with him in the past and continue to do so as needed. David researches every possible angle of a case and, where the law is unclear or undecided on a particular issue, he identifies constitutionally based justifications for findings in favor of his position. He eats, breathes, and sleeps (rarely actual sleep) defense of the individual's constitutional rights. And he is the most ethical, honest person I know. He is aggressive without being deceitful. And he truly believes in innocence until PROVEN guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. There are very few attorneys that I trust. David is one of them - not because he's my husband, but because I have seen, first hand, how hard he works and how much he cares about an individual's constitutional rights. When the government has aimed it's forces against you, this is the man you need for protection. I endorse David Kaloyanides."
