Zachary Drew Wechsler

Attorney Zachary Wechsler was prompt in calling me back when I left him a message requesting his services. He assisted me all the way until the ethics case was resolved and he was kind and extremely helpful. Throughout he was efficient, he guided me, he communicated promptly with me by phone and emai...l and was easy to reach directly. He knew the in and outs of ethics and answered all my questions, he directed me correctly in resolving the issue successfully with the California bar. I do not think I could have found a better lawyer.

I had an issue with the State Bar that could have likely resulted in suspension or worse! Foolishly I thought I could maybe handle this on my own, after that first call with the trial counsel, I realized i was out of my depth! Just like with any other highly specialized part of the law, you need an... expert if you plan on coming out of a sticky situation with your name intact! Zack was caring, he was the farthest thing from judgmental in a tough situation and really came ready to advocate for me. I was so grateful that I retained him. Zack worked with me to put together the best mediation brief, told me everything to do including signing up for the CTA and Ethics school in advance of my mediation so that the court and trial counsel I was taking this very seriously and I wanted to resolve this matter without the mention of trial! Zack wrote a great brief, highlighting every possible factor in mitigation and urging the Trial Counsel to reduce my charges to that of a private reproval. He pushed the trial counsel in the mediation, he pushed the trial counsel in correspondence. And thanks to Zack's tenacity that is exactly where we ended! Zack had a great bedside manner. During the mediation when we were on hold, he told me stories and engaged in convo to try to keep my mind from running through a million bad results. He has followed up with me and was easy to get on the phone or email whenever I needed. This was quite possibly the best decision I have made in my career. And thanks to him mine won't be impacted.

Today I received news from Zachary D. Wechsler that I passed the Moral Character component of the California Bar! This is less than two weeks after Zach submitted my letter! I am grateful to Zach for his role in making that happen. I understand every case is different, and not all individuals receive... a positive outcome, notwithstanding that fact I wholeheartedly recommend retaining Zach for any admissions related issue. I received a Moral Character Application request for additional information and did research on several California Moral Character attorneys prior to contacting Zach, and I am relieved I did. Zach is superb attorney who has decades of knowledge on the California Moral Character Application process and knows exactly what to say so that you can put your best foot forward when you are under the microscope. First, he will conduct intake to understand where you are coming from. A person who is an excellent communicator knows how to listen carefully to his clients and Zach does precisely that. Secondly, Zach goes above and beyond most attorneys because he can anticipate from reading your letter what caught the Moral Character investigator’s attention—he flagged certain issues in one of our first discussions and pointed out minor issues that were of lesser significance. That put me at ease. Third, when you are going through the process of writing your letter to the investigator, Zach knows how to tweak it to highlight relevant issues with supporting law, if applicable. In my case, he was upfront about the fact that I specifically did not need to admit to doing something which I did not do nor did I need to hedge. Fourth, Zach responds quickly to your phone calls and emails—in one case I need to ask Zach about whether I should send someone a character witness support letter, Zach picked up the phone immediately and told me to send the individual a declaration instead with specific language. Fifth, his retainer and fees are both reasonable for any major metropolitan area in the United States—they seem even more reasonable after the fact if you do due diligence, keep all notes, and compile all the documents in a lawyerly manner. You put in the time before law school, during law school, during the bar—you should take the Moral Character Application just as seriously (if not more seriously), than all the above and retain an attorney who can offer you peace of mind.

Thanks to the hard work, patience, and great guidance of Zach Wechsler, I was able to get my bar card. Zach assisted me with my moral character application and did a fantastic job. I would not be practicing law without Zach's assistance.
