Jean Hee Cha

I initially contacted Jean Cha seeking advice on specific portions of my Moral Character Application. During our brief call, I inquired about her rates and services. She quoted over $1,000 per hour. When I asked for clarification on what that fee would cover, she became combative and dismissive. She ...said she didn’t have time to explain and emphasized that she was the president of the ADDC and had “back channels” at the State Bar. The call ended abruptly. While the tone of the conversation surprised me, I understood she might have been short on time and was willing to move on. However, about a week later, I received an invoice for $900 from someone named Daryl at her firm, claiming 45 minutes of “legal analysis.” The date of service listed on the invoice was incorrect, and the length of the call was significantly exaggerated. Our call lasted no more than 10 minutes. Since then, I’ve attempted to have the invoice corrected. Jean has refused to speak with me. I’m left to assume that this kind of behavior goes unchecked because of her connections to the State Bar of California. I’m sharing this because people should be aware of what they may encounter.

I called attorney Jean Cha to inquire about an ethics matter. She was very helpful and kind. She answered my questions and helped guide my thinking process even though she didn't receive a fee. She was insightful and compassionate. Compassion isn't always a quality associated with attorneys but Jean... has a unique ability to balance truth and grace.
