Mr. Kensik handled my divorce from start to finish. He was recommended to me by a friend who had engaged him for her divorce and was pleased with his service for her. Mr. Kensik first reviewed all the facts in my case and gave me recommendations to help me prepare. He gave me a list of pertinent documents I needed to gather, and went through the documents and made copies and submitted them. He properly filed the required court documents. When my wife fired her attorney and we decided to hire a divorce mediator, he helped me chose one. He worked in close coordination with the mediator, and reviewed the resulting agreement with me. Finally, he set up the court hearing date and we had a very short hearing, followed by a final decree. I felt that he was a very competent divorce lawyer who had done a good job.

Mr Kensik has supported me through a complicated family law case. Throughout the case, Mr Kensik has always listened carefully and fully understood the details of the case. So...I had to move very fast to obtain a restraining order against my ex. The person went nuts on me... Kevin requested me to provide him with the necessary proof to justify my request. So, I shared with him emails, txts, pictures of the damage to my property. This was good enough to get my petition approved in no-time. He walked me through the process, with transparency, with the pros and cons. I am not american and the legal system is still new to me, still he had the patience to explain how things work. My case is now resolved, however if I ever have to deal with something, I wouldn't hesitate to contact him again. He get's it done, keeps you inform and will tell you what could be done or not. I came to Mr. Kensik on a recommendation from a friend. He handled my case well and kept me informed. The overall case took longer than I had anticipated, but I don't think that was his fault. I would probably recommend him to someone with a difficult case, particulary involving business assets.

I recommend Tess Cozine and her firm. Kevin is unprofessional. He harassed me for no apparent reason. not sure why! then he stopped. wasn't even representing my ex wife, not sure what prompted his angry texts.

Mr. Kensik did not represent me properly. I am probably taking my case to the state bar for disciplinary review. He didn’t contact me for 9 months leading up to my trial for which he didn’t prepare, until the day before. The judge continued it because he didn’t filed the correct paperwork or meet deadlines. My ex-husband is a lawyer and Mr. Kensik seemed afraid of him, taking his position on many occasions. When I would get a second opinion from another and do research to show him he was incorrect, his excuse is that he doesn’t want to do the work because he worries he won’t be paid. That’s against the code of conduct. I gave Mr. Kensik another chance to do my continued trial. There is no trial prep done again and he mishandled the only motion he filed on my behalf - and I had to do all the research, pleadings, law and motion on it. I don’t believe he reads emails or correspondence because his response often does not address my questions. It’s been almost 2 years of this and I was stuck because he had my retainer. The legal system has to change. This is why lawyers get a bad name.

Doesnt pay attention to details, doesnt listen to his clients, and doesnt understand what the client is asking for. No negotiation skills and will cave when up against a stronger lawyer. The final agreement I received, after a year on this case was something that a paralegal should have drafted. It was literally cut and pasted from a custody evaluator's recommendation, with a few minor changes. For the amount of money I paid, I should have gotten almost everything that I advised Mr. Kensik was non-negotiable... I got none of what was discussed with Mr. Kensik. I am also still finding things in the "cut and paste" agreement that show Mr Kensik didnt pay attention to what was written. Because of Mr. Kensik's inability to pay attention to the details of the written recommendation, I was given horrible advise during a court hearing, which ended up allowing me to give away precious weekend time with my children. Also had to deal with many administrative errors, like wrong name on a wage assignement order that took over 2 months to correct.
