Landlord/ Deposit Dispute

We are so thankful for Mr. Moss, and his expertise, for helping us through a difficult situation with our former landlord. With his wonderful guidance, we were able to come to a settlement within a relatively short time. Thank you so much, Mr. Moss!

Sound advice

I asked a landlord-tenant question here on AVVO and he gave a thorough answer - even referred me to the Handbook so I could do my due diligence. It's too bad he's not in Sacramento, he seems like an attorney who would be great to have on my side.

Barb, thanks for the kind comments. FYI, my practice is almost exclusively online, conducted via video conferencing, telephone, and correspondence. I provide mediation, negotiation consulting, and communication coaching throughout the states of California and Washington, and manage an innovative program in San Francisco that mediates to prevent evictions that lead to homelessness.

Legal consulation for property related issues

Mr. Moss assisted me with my dispute with my rental's property owner. He was courteous and polite, tried to understand my situation patiently, and provided solid guidance for the resolution of my conflict. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs legal consultation/guidance in landlord re...lated matters.

Tenant-Owner-Property Management Fiasco

Roger is fantastic! Roger is one of many legal pros on a lengthy AVVO list, but he is truly unique in his approach and thoughtfulness. Several lawyers I contacted through AVVO responded to me with “lets go to court and we need $X for our retainer.” Roger handled my property manager-tenant problem...s through mediation. I was dealing with my tenant breaking her lease and property management not following WA-state rental laws that would have left me at a huge loss. Roger was able to mitigate that loss and recover my income. Besides being more cost effective, Roger’s mediation process also saved me the mental aguish a court battle would have caused. Roger’s role as mediator really does suite him; he was the calming presence among head strong and angry sides. I initially approached him primarily because he and I share the same alma mater. I had a gut feeling that a fellow Bear wouldn’t let me down. It was a by far my best decision based on a gut feeling. I would highly recommend Roger as mediator.

"Roger is one of those rare people who has great insight and that is an invaluable asset when you are a mediator, dealing with human emotions. He (unknowingly at the time) helped me make a life changing decision that had been burdening me for over two years. I don't regret the decision that I made and I only wish I had met Roger years before! He is compassionate and caring and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to any family or business in conflict that needs a neutral third party to help them weed through their problems."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
