Biography
Amber Gordon concentrates her practice on criminal defense, handling matters from theft and robbery to narcotics trafficking, gang allegations, police shootings, and homicide. Intensely versed in California’s STEP Act and gang prosecution strategies, she has worked with top state experts on organized crime cases. Ms. Gordon belongs to the California State Bar (and its Criminal Law section) as well as the Los Angeles County, Beverly Hills, and San Fernando Valley Bar Associations, Women Lawyers of Los Angeles, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the California Public Defender’s Association, and Lawyers of Distinction. She studied political science and psychology at Clark University and the University of San Diego, earning BAs with research emphasis on cognitive psychology, memory and perception, eyewitness reliability, and race effects in jury decision making and felony murder/death penalty applications. At McGeorge School of Law she earned a Criminal Law certificate in May 2010 and received a Capital Commendation for Public Service after interning with federal and county public defenders (including Stanislaus, San Joaquin, and San Diego), trying cases as a certified law student, volunteering post bar, and later founding her own practice.
