I consider myself lucky to have had McFarling Law Group (Emily & Michael) as my attorneys throughout my appeal process, in what can labeled as one of the most complex custody cases. My divorce/custody case has been very lengthy with a few former attorneys that disappointed me and at times were incomp...etent to defend my case. I was losing confidence in hiring any more law firms until I was referred to McFarling Law Group for my appeal. In my intial meeting with Emily I could see that she was extremely knowledgeable regarding the exact steps that needed to take place. Once they took over my case, I could tell the difference of dedication to my case from our very first meeting. They felt my pain, told me what steps were needed, and advised me what the best moves were going into our appeal process. The McFarling Law Group stood strong in the courtroom and challenged everyone to defend my rights. We won our appeal and had the chance to present facts that were not addressed the first time around (by my previous attorneys). Although we did not have the exact ending result we would have liked, they were still able to convince the judge of actions that are in my favor. Thanks to their great job, we made a huge advance in my case after giving up hope with past attorneys. The case is pretty much balanced again and we were able to get our judge to make a final decision that is as equal as can be for the time being, without having additional conflict. This final decision was because of this Law Groups efforts in presenting my wishes to her throughout our litigation. In addition, McFarling Law Group is very honest. I have always received great counsel and was presented with all potential outcomes so that I could be prepared and know how to move forward despite which decision we would receive. I was never promised a win in our hearings (as I was in the past) but made me rest assured that I was in good hands. Communication with this Law Firm is very easy! They use a legal software site that is extremely easy to navigate. It logs every aspect of your case (documents, hearing dates, emails, billing, and more). They are also very good at phone communication and have an amazing staff of highly knowledgeable paralegals ready and willing to help answer questions. McFarling Law Group's entire staff are very approachable to ask sudden questions, suggestions and guided me accordingly for my best outcome. I am so thankful for the brave defense and continuous arguments against the other party to prove them wrong, playing the right cards at the right time, and continuing to present everything very well said. I highly recommend the McFarling Law Group as efficient, knowledgeable and great attorneys (and staff). Ultimately, they have been great people that always make me feel confident and ease my mind regarding my case. Whatever I say may not be enough as a recommendation, but this is the least I can do. I would feel guilty not to recognize them as a powerful and successful Law Firm. If you are having a tough time deciding on the right Law Firm to handle your divorce/custody case or you are involved in a complicated situation this is the firm you want on your side! I did a lot of research before finally deciding on Emily. My case was complicated and difficult, and the stakes were very high. I knew I needed to find someone who was highly intelligent and knowledgeable in family law, as well as compassionate, and specifically experienced with (or at least well... informed about) domestic violence/abuse victim's issues. I had just escaped a very violent relationship, was super traumatized and needed someone who could help me keep myself and my son safe. Someone I could feel confident in and supported by; both in the courtroom and on a personal level as well. I felt like I had just fled one war zone, only to be thrown into another, and was ill equipped to navigate the realities of an extremely uneducated family law court system (specifically regarding the dangers children face when a parent is trying to escape an abusive partner). Emily McFarling empathetically and capably met all these needs, and both her and her team far exceeded my expectaticons. At first I hired her firm for a "one off" hearing; extending the protection order and requesting emergency custody. The late John Eccles (RIP), handled it with flawless grace and the judge ruled in our favor. When my ex filed paperwork soon after, requesting dismissal of the protection order, sole custody, and making serious accusations about my fitness as a parent, I knew I needed Emily in my corner for the duration. I am eternally grateful to Emily and everyone on her team who helped me achieve my goals of keeping my son as safe as possible under these circumstances. I feel we got the results we did, only because of her hard work, dedication to our case, to her attention to detail, experience in and superior knowledge of NV law, and her invaluable advice to me throughout. I came to Emily Law Office for help feeling stressed out ,overwhelmed with a custody/child support case of my Teen Father wanting to re-enter my child life after 10yrs. Of being absent. I am very pleased with my decision to take on McFarling Law for my case. John Eccles is the lawyer that took on my case and Emily filled in for a hearing that John was unable to attend. I regret that I never had the opportunity to meet them in person, but they went above and beyond from afar. I already had custody of my children for 5 years but then my ex-husband withheld them from me where he lives in Las Vegas, while I live in North Carolina, and filed to take them from me. My children were returned to me, I am retaining custody AND my ex-husband has to provide more in child support being that his income has gone up exponentially since our 2009 divorce. It was a very long and emotionally stressful year for me and my children, but finally, thanks to McFarling Law, we may begin to move forward once again and live happily together.
