As a first-time criminal defendant, I had no experience with criminal court and was too embarrassed to 'ask around' for an attorney to hire. Luckily, my internet search brought me to Mr. Hammond. He took my position (of no plea) to the prosecutor's office and secured a diversion agreement that included neither a guilty plea nor nolo contendere. By that agreement, after community service and a simple online course on 'making good decisions,' the prosecutor's office filed - and the court granted - a motion to dismiss the charges. Throughout this short representation, Mr. Hammond (and his staff) responded quickly to any questions I had. He provided a sympathetic ear to my disbelief that the facts warranted the charges, but also ensured that I was fully apprised of the potential for some level of adverse outcome. His flat-rate was reasonable and certainly represented 'good value for the money.' I do not expect to have any such need again, but under the notion of 'you never know,' I have kept his number in my phone.
