Excellent legal representation of divorce case

Carlie is a very friendly lady who was EXPERT in handling my divorce case. I have no minor children, so it was a case of dividing assets, medical bills, retirement, spousal support, back taxes. Because I have been on a very fixed income, she was able to secure funds from my ex to cover my legal expen...ses and because he dropped me from health insurance coverage, the judge ordered him to pay half of any medical expenses I endured. She was steadfast in making sure I was represented well at trial. We were able to negotiate outside of court and everything went smoothly before the judge. At this writing, my ex has not paid as agreed and will be in contempt as of tomorrow, 9/5 and Carlie has told me that she will act and file contempt of court and he can face the judge and possibly end up in jail if he doesn't pay and meet his obligations. I would say that if you need family legal representation, someone who will really go to bat for you, someone who has a level head, someone who doesn't take no for an answer, someone who is educated and quick on her feet, then Carlie Owsley Walker is the gal for you. She has a friendly group of staff members who are also educated and can quickly answer questions and they are also very supportive. I came into the office one day so frazzled and two of the gals came to my side and encouraged me and said everything was going to work out and be okay. How many legal firms do you know who have people like that? The above question asks...Would you recommend this attorney? How can a simple Yes toggle be sufficient where Carlie is concerned? It's not, so I have taken the time to personally write this review in hopes that you will see that the stigma of lawyers being crooked and just out for money is not always true. Carlie took my case with 800 bucks down because that's all I had. She and her office staff work out payment arrangements and to keep costs to a minimum oftentimes the staff can answer questions and it not be charged out of the retainer. Now that you've read this review, you know you don't have to read through scores of other reviews about other attorneys. If you're in a jam and need help now, do yourself a favor and give Carlie's office a call. You WILL NOT be sorry! I wish any of you who are going through the frustrations of legal family matters all the best!

Don't hire!

Where do I start? I wish I would have read her reviews before hiring Owsley Law Firm to represent me in my separation case. At the beginning I felt very confident in Carlie's representation and only a couple of weeks in things quickly changed. It took over 10 months for my separation to be final and ...over $5,000. She originally told me it would cost around $2,500. At one court hearing Carlie ran into an old friend and spoke with them for 25 minutes (during my meeting with her) and charged me for it! The conversation consisted of what her rent was for her new office space and other completely crazy things. I had to ask for my invoice to be corrected for that day. Her staff is unprofessional and produce low quality of work. Several documents had errors on them, I received other clients invoices, my name was spelled incorrectly on mail addressed to me. I was double billed for things and had to constantly double check all work. Sadly, the examples are endless. The communication I have had with her staff (with the exception of Jordan) has been horrible. They are unorganized, at one point I was contacted three times in a 6 week period to set up a payment plan using my debt card number, why was this so difficult? Carlie's communication is minimal and she charges for absolutely every email, referral, and contact of any kind. There is more attention to billing than there is to my case. I have expressed my concerns from the beginning with Carlie and little to nothing was done. I question the integrity and morals of Carlie and her entire staff. I would never recommend her representation to anyone. This experience has added stress to an already stressful time, it's been hell.
