Scheduled a consultation w Carlie to discuss complicated custody case which had previously awarded my ex primary custody, later permitted relocation of our child out of state, based on false allegations of extreme DV. When I first met Carlie, I had recently obtained possession of hard evidence d...ocumenting my ex's serious substance abuse and DV issues w her new partner. Obviously gravely impacting our child (7 y/o at the time). It was an urgent, time sensitive matter that had me seeking a pro's advice on possible options and which direction to take in order to protect our child from the disastrous, dangerous situation they were in. In our first (of only two) face to face meetings Carlie sold me on her appreciation of the danger my child was in (in another state), and confirmed my belief that I must act swiftly and prudently when untangling this legal web my child and I were in. Carlie then cancelled multiple meetings last minute upon retaining her services, w "the dog ate my hw" type excuses that were seemingly hangover related cancellations, AND CHARGED ME FOR CANCELLATION PHONE CALLS! One such call was evident she was urinating during call. To my surprise, Carlie assured me AZ still had jurisdiction, and that she was the right attorney for the job. I clearly expressed my doubts as to whether AZ had jurisdiction including being told previously by other attorneys in consultations over the years that AZ would NOT have jurisdiction. She insisted AZ was the state to file in. I reminded her how disastrous this would be were we to file and Carlie be incorrect about this, she acknowledged the danger but assured me repeatedly AZ had jurisdiction. Well Carlie Owsley was wrong. Big wrong. Wrong in the most devastating fashion an attorney could possibly be wrong. Bc of this, my ex was able to see the filing coming, prepare her own legal attack strategy AGAINST ME, and further spin our child in her web of abuse, neglect, and isolation for almost 5 subsequent years that included, 2 court appointed psychiatrists costing $15k each (the first was as incompetent at his job as Owsley was at hers), out of state attorneys fees totaling almost $100k, and dragging me through the darkest mental health struggle I could've ever imagined. Ultimately the traumatic tales piled high enough that I was awarded primary custody of our child and my ex was ordered to surrender our child back home to me in AZ, but only after our child had to endure unknown depths of despair that they will undoubtedly be dealing w the rest of their lives. As if this avoidable blunder wasn't bad enough, not only did Carlie not refund me the money I'd paid her to derail my case, she had her ever-rotating staff calling me for years trying to COLLECT MORE MONEY from me?!?! Ultimately Carlie Owsley was not the only person in the broken US Family Court system to fail my child, nor was she most at fault. That said, what Carlie did played a critical role in furthering my child's suffering. Based on these reviews and her doing the opposite of refunding my money, it is clear she has not grown as an attorney or as a person. Best of luck to anyone else that hires her as long as she's licensed to practice.

I scheduled my first appointment only to be put off. Carlie left a note with her assistant to call me to reschedule however it wasn't until I called that I found that out. She then next pushed off my next two appointments before cancelling meeting with me at all. My time is valuable too, and... I am grossly disappointed .

I am not sure 4000 words is enough to fully express my overwhelming joy! Our story is very long and disturbing. It involves a little boy whose father died and mother was being controlled by drugs, this little boy is my nephew. DCS snatched him up almost 2 years ago. I would like to believe that ...they felt they were doing the right thing however that is when the emotional abuse started and an upward rollercoaster ride began. I fought for almost a year in a system that I could not comprehend, couldn't possibly believe at times. Us, his family was not given the time of day, we were ignored most of the time and treated like second class citizens the rest of the time. Needless to say this was a fight that wore heavily on my family and me. Hard to understand how our state says they stand for "Families First" and "Families Helping Families" yet they had no interest in helping my nephew and my family. We are a good family with plenty of room for another child and more love than any child could ever need. Being that I am mild mannered, shy, respectful and very mindful of others situation, made our case even worse because they took advantage of my temperament. When I saw that doing the right thing was not getting us very far I decided to hire Carlie Owsley. Carlie was that FIREBALL that we needed. She was not afraid and was very confident and committed to getting justice for my nephew. I was amazed at how quickly she learned about our case. I had close to 500 emails to DCS that she had to go through. The court did not want us speaking but Carlie pushed her way in and BOY did she speak. She rattled off about three pages of notes she took when meeting us for the first time. She made sure she was heard. We finally had a voice in court and a smart, swift and loud voice too. We found out about a month later that we WON! My nephew finally has a safe, secure and loving home to go home to. Carlie called me personally to tell me the news. Her enthusiasm and love for her clients is unmatched! Thanks Carlie! You will be blessed dearly for your work. I would recommend Carlie to anyone who needs a strong presence in court!

When going through a child custody/visitation battle - emotions run high and confusion even more so. The Owsley team was understanding and able to explain clearly and walk us through all the necessary steps in our case. They were diligent in providing excellent service and advised us on items we coul...d complete ourselves to save money. They are definitely worth hiring and broke my thoughts that all lawyers are out for the money. They truly care about their clients and cases and treated us like we were family. We will definitely be working with them again, if needed.

Carlie went abover & beyond for my cases! I hired her for my divorce 8 years ago. I was so scared & nervous, but learned to let that go. There's never been a time I've questioned anything. I truely believe she has the best interest of her clients & will be upfront & honest. Sometimes it may not ...be what we want to hear, but she is extremely knowledgeable & will do what it takes to get the job done & done right. I feel like everytime I've gone to her she has taken my case on like it was one of her own. She is very easy to talk to & extremely passionate. To me she has built a firm behind something she believes in & in every case & situation you can feel that. Ive given her full control & she has never lead me stray. For the last 8 years her firm is the only one I go to. I know they are a firm I can trust & count on!!! I highly recommend her to anyone!
