Very organized and trustworthy

I hired Mr. Cole several years ago for a very complex and lengthy custody battle. He was very compassionate and aggressive with his defense work. I could contact Mr. Cole's office or him directly via email whenever needed to discuss my case which was very comforting. Mr. Cole was very generous in hi...s time and effort to do the best job considering the very intense case. He almost took it on a personal level to make sure things were done right and in a timely manner. Thankfully I will never have to go through this again but if I did I would hire Steven Cole again for sure!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am currently in a nasty custody battle. Steven and his office can remember your name first hand when you call and when you arrive at there office. They keep you well informed of everything going on in your case. This office, I would recommed it to anyone seeking any family matters that need to be ...resolved in court. They are very agressive when it comes to going to court. This office truely cares about what happens to your family.

Recommended Attroney

Steve was brought into our custody battle that had been going on for about 5 years. He had no knowledge of the case and had a very short time to prepare for trial. Steve immediately brought himself up to speed with our case. After having our first meeting with Steve we felt as though a big load had b...een lifted off our shoulders. He was in tune with what we were thinking and saying and explained things thoroughly. He always kept us well informed of what was going on and what action he proceeded to take. Five years of a custody battle can put a toll on a family and make you loose hope of ever having a bright outcome. Although we were perfectly aware that things could go either way in trial we were confident that Steve would give it his all and and we would be happy with the results. We were very pleased when the rulings came out to see that we had received everything that we had asked for. We hope to never have problems in the future but if they do arise we will definitely have Steve as our attorney.

Abysmal

I could write well more than 4000 characters on why I would discourage anybody from hiring Steven Cole to represent them in a divorce case. His rates may be lower than a lot of lawyers in Phoenix but don't let this be the deciding factor. Cheap rates equals cheap service. In summary Steven Cole is... disorganized, lacks compassion, and is an extremely poor communicator. For a solo practice he uses his paralegal way too much for direct client communication. I spent a lot of wasted time trying to figure out what was actually going on with my case. Only 30% of my direct email to his Hotmail account were ever answered. There were a lot of charges that were billed for conversations between he and his paralegal. His plan of attack or defense was never clear to me and it seemed to change frequently. He joked around with opposing counsel in court which I thought was very unprofessional. Save yourself a lot of potential frustration and look elsewhere.

Unprepared for court appearance

Mr. Cole did an expremely poor job of preparing for first court appearance and notified us the evening before the second appearance (after agreeing to waive his fees for the second appearance due to his unsatisfactory perfomance the first time around) that he had an emergency and would not be in cou...rt the next day. He sent another attorney in his place. This attorney was admonished by the judge for the lack of Mr. Cole's ability to share documents with the other attorneys. We were led to believe that this case would be fairly simple and should not exceed a certain price point. We clearly stated ahead of time what our financial abilities were. He then filed with the court to dismiss us because our balance of approximately $800 (after already giving $5000) was not paid within 30 days. The case paperwork forwarded to us after this dismissal were nothing but boiler plate documents filled with misspelled names and incorrect dates, including birthdates.
