About Tad

Learn Tad’s areas of practice.

Why does the Law Office of Tad Davis prefer an honest, compassionate approach to family law? As a parent of six kids, including one that has significant health issues, founding attorney Tad Davis understands both the joy and the heartache that comes with being a dad. Tad also knows that family is one of the most important things we have in our lives, and he has seen people close to him struggle with family-related legal challenges. This has led him to develop a passion for representing families in court.

Tad works hard to ensure that all of his clients have a clear understanding of the legal process. When they work from a solid foundation, they know how to help their case move forward. He also diligently keeps the lines of communication open so that issues or questions can be addressed as they arise. In this relaxed yet professional environment, you can feel comfortable bringing up any concerns that you might have.

Tad received his Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University in 2003 and his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University in 2006. He began his legal career that year working with crime victims to uphold their legal rights. In 2008, Tad switched gears and worked as a prosecutor. There Tad put on trials and negotiated complicated plea agreements. His diverse, hands-on experience gives him an edge in negotiations and court proceedings.

After several years in government practice, Tad decided that he wanted to be able to help clients without the limitations of the prosecutor’s office, which often required a cookie-cutter approach. He hoped to assist families directly with creative thinking, legal expertise, and one-on-one service. He established the Law Office of Tad Davis with those goals in mind.

Aside from practicing law, Tad enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, and assisting with projects in his local community. As a family-oriented lawyer with a knack for outside-the-box thinking, Tad’s legal counsel can be an invaluable asset in your divorce or child custody proceedings. Give us a call to discuss your case.

Great Family Attorney
This literally was the best experience with an attorney I have ever had. He was very fast and thorough gathering all of the information needed and getting the proper paperwork filed. When I would call him or email him I would get immediate responses back from him not a secretary. We had 1 court date and everything went perfect. If anyone is looking for an amazing family attorney I highly recommend giving Tad Davis a call!!!

Thief/ con man
I do not know how this lawyer is maintaining positive reviews even after disbarment, as he probably hires bots for the positive ones hes recieved. Tad Davis was recently disbarred for ignoring his clients. Myself included, he dragged my case out way past the statuate of limitations. I would like to pursue a group lawsuit where anyone whose case got dropped take Mr Davis to court and make him refund money for any unearned legal fees. I messaged him Myself but he only left me on read. Please reach out to me if you're interested. I believe we could all set up a gofundme or something.

I hired Tad Davis in September 2022 for my divorce process. I gave him $3500 and I was told it should take about 90 days to complete final paperwork. Mr. Davis had many excuses for why he did not respond to my emails or text messages such excuse was there was a tire problem on his plane, another said his children were sick or he was at their soccer game. I received an email from his assistant that they paused my proceedings with the court without discussing why. I contacted his assistant and let her know that my ex had left the state without me, knowing during the divorce process. I received no response. I continue to try and reach the office of Mr. Davis multiple times a week via text as well as email and have no response still. I heard the rumor that Mr. Davis was sick so he was not responding to my multiple attempts to contact. It is now January 2024. I have not been able to get one word back from Mr. Davis or his staff in 4 months!! The voicemail box to his assistant is full and not taking messages as well as calling the office number only go straight to voicemail . I have contacted the bar association due to the lack of professionalism and dishonesty with regards to paperwork, he did not file with the court, that he said he did. In the one and only time since 2022 we actually met with a judge, her honor asked Mr. Davis, where the paperwork he had said he filed was his response was as to what date he submit the paperwork he answered, and I quote,” a couple days ago“ unable to give any specific date or time because it was never filed. The excuse of him not responding due to an illness whether it be him or his children is ridiculous! This man lies does not return phone calls or email messages. He will take your money and then go MIA.

Worst decision ever
He deserves 0 stars. Took my money and didn’t nothing for my case. Stay far away from this man. Does not respond to messages once he has your money. His paralegal is the only person who slightly responded and that was like pulling teeth. I’ve asked for my final bill and a refund of the remaining and he won’t return calls or texts or email. My case was filed in June and was put on the inactive calendar because he did nothing!!! Don’t use him!

Terrible attorney / Thief
I have to assume that any positive review for this attorney was left by family and friends only at his request. There is not a snowballs chance that anyone thinks that this guy is a good attorney. He's dismissive, non-communicative and at this point now a thief. I paid him $4,000 then fired him a couple months later and was promised a refund of my balance. Come 3 months later I still have not seen my refund nor does he reply to any of my emails. I have filed a complaint against him with the Arizona bar and hope for some reconciliation through them. Do not use this attorney.

Not a good choice!
I hired Tad in august after a call with him. I was assured my case would get the attention it deserved and there would be constant communication. this HAS NOT been the case. Texts and emails go unread with no replies. Requests for a final bill have been ignored. I have no choice but to seek other representation. If you are considering an attorney for a divorce, DO NOT select Tad Davis's office.

Do Not Hire this Man!!!
DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN TO REPRESENT YOU I have given Mr. Davis $1200.00 to represent me for 1 hour He showed up to court over 15 minutes late which cut into my time unprepared & unorganized! I had asked Mr. Davis to talk for me as my nerves would come into action, well that did not happen. He barely spoke and didn’t bring up any major points that I asked him to do. He put me on as a witness without even letting me know his plan and without even prepping me for what he was gonna go over in court. And with not being prepared for it I lost. He let me and my daughter down. Not just once but many times! After I expressed my disappointment in him he assured me he would finish up a holiday schedule free of charge for me (well I hope) once again he failed to represent me one more time. In Sept. He told me he had filed finally after a month of asking and not getting calls back from him. So I put my mind at ease thinking it will get done finally. Well I was wrong again... for months I kept asking him what is going on since the holidays were coming up and asked where is my copy of what he filed. He preceded to keep telling me he couldn’t find it and made excuse after excuse! He couldn’t find it. He was switching from banker boxes to data files Even to go as far as using his sick children as why I couldn’t receive a copy. One time he told me he was on a “Make a Wish” trip and couldn’t afford the $10. To get internet. Ok that was fine so I waited for him to contact me after his trip for I understand you don’t wanna work on vacay. Did I hear back from him?! No! Many I will call u later. I sent multiple texts asking him to respond. Nothing!! Nothing but excuses and excuses. I think it’s sad that he uses his kids illnesses as an excuse for his lack of professionalism (if that’s even true) I myself lost my grandson during this time and still found time to contact him for my child is a #1 priority. Everybody has things that they go through which I explained to Mr.Davis I have contacted the State Bar on him and wish anybody else who has had an experience like I have with Mr.Davis should as well. He is not fit to be an attorney. He is a fraud!! Do not hire this man or you will be disappointed!! Just to let everyone know I did not get to spend any time with my daughter for the holidays! He does not care about his clients! Do not hire him or you will be disappointed!!!

Response from Tad Davis December 30, 2019
Hi Kerri, I’m disappointed that you don’t feel like you were represented well in your case. My staff and I always try to serve our clients to the best of our ability and its devastating to hear that our efforts didn’t hit the mark. I know we’ve had several conversations about these issues offline and I’m sorry that we weren’t able to resolve things that way. But, even still, if you would like to address this offline, I’d be happy to have that conversation with you there. In an effort to give some context to your review I wanted to share some more information here. In July 2019, we met to discuss your upcoming trial in two weeks. You told me that you were anxious to find a lawyer because other lawyers had wanted to charge $5,000 or more and you did not have that kind of money. You only had $1,200 in total. I indicated that your case would require more money than $1,200 because it would take hours to prepare and then do the 1-hour trial. But as we talked, I ultimately decided that I would take your case because of your sincerity and desire to do the best for your child. To prepare for your case my staff and I spent about 15 hours before we did the “1-hour trial.” And at the conclusion of my representation, we had invested well over 20 hours into your representation. We understand that the $1,200 is a lot of money. But when we compare that to what you would have spent had we not agreed to the discounted rate, we still feel like you’ve received tremendous value. Unfortunately, before I came on your case, you and your ex had met with the Judge and had determined that your case would be set for a 1-hour trial which meant that you only had 30 minutes to present your side of the case. That made your request to call multiple witnesses to testify impossible unless you cut down or didn’t testify at all which would have been devastating to your case. At trial I felt as though you testified really well in the time allotted. The court did start late because the prior case ran long but as the July 23, 2019 minute entry shows, court started at 10:15 AM and ended at 11:15 AM which means the Judge gave you the entire hour of time that it was set for. At the end of the day the Judge did not adopt your request, but in reading the Court’s ruling I believe that the Judge found you to be a credible and genuine parent. The Judge wrote “Both parents are acting based on his and her genuine and reasonable belief about the child's best interest,” and “Both parents have a strong relationship with the child.” Unfortunately for our argument, the Court cited stability as the single biggest factor in why it adopted your ex’s plan over your plan. The Court wrote “Father has lived in the same house for 18 years. Mother has moved several times during [child]'s life… Mother is renting a house. Mother's most recent move was not for employment because she is not currently working. Father presented evidence that her driver's license is suspended and has been for some time. There may be an outstanding warrant on her…Father is significantly more stable.” Unfortunately, those factors are not ones that I can control. Since our time in Court I have spent a number of hours working on your holiday schedule and trading proposals with your ex on your behalf at no cost to you. And although you and I have disagreed about what the best legal pathway forward should be, I still would like you to be set up for a good result in the future. I understand that my son’s Make-A-Wish trip wasn’t convenient for your timing. But we did have a chance to speak by phone both before and after that trip, text, and even had an appointment to meet in person set up prior to the firm withdrawing from your case. So Ms. Hubler, while we are deeply disappointed in your review, we do wish you the very best of luck in your case in the future!
