Attorney Travis J. Owen is a highly accomplished family law attorney at Cantor Law Group in Phoenix, Arizona, specializing in complex divorce, child custody, and property division cases. He represents clients throughout Arizona, providing expert legal counsel with a focus on achieving the best outcomes in even the most challenging family law matters. Travis earned his undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University before attending law school in Virginia. He was licensed to practice law in 2014 and has since built a reputation for providing exceptional legal counsel with a client-centered approach.
As a Board-Certified Family Law Specialist by the Arizona State Bar, Travis has met the rigorous requirements for this prestigious designation, which include substantial experience in family law, extensive continuing legal education, and successful completion of a comprehensive examination. The certification process also involves a peer review to ensure that only attorneys with proven competence and professionalism are recognized. Travis is one of several Board-Certified Specialists at Cantor Law Group, underscoring the firm’s deep expertise in family law and its commitment to providing clients with top-tier legal representation.
Travis has also been recognized as a Rising Star by Southwest Super Lawyers, a distinction awarded to only 2.5% of attorneys in the region. This honor highlights his growing prominence in Arizona’s legal community and further underscores his reputation as a standout attorney in family law.
Notably, Travis achieved success in the Arizona Court of Appeals, in the case Antonetti v. Westerhausen, 254 Ariz. 364 (App. 2023).In this significant decision, Travis represented his client in a complex family law matter involving a UCCJEA (Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act) issue, where the court had to determine the appropriate jurisdiction for a child custody dispute across multiple states. Travis’ skillful legal argumentation and understanding of the UCCJEA allowed him to successfully navigate the jurisdictional challenges, securing a favorable ruling for his client and setting an important precedent for future cases involving interstate custody issues. This is only one of Travis’ multiple wins in recent years before the Arizona Court of Appeals.
In addition to his legal practice, Travis is an active member of the Maricopa County Bar Association, where he serves on the Family Law Section Board of Directors. He is also a committee member of the Family Law Policies, Practices, and Procedures Committee with the Arizona State Bar, where he contributes to shaping and improving family law practices and procedures across the state. Travis is also a frequent presenter at complex family law CLEs (Continuing Legal Education programs), where he shares his expertise and insights on advanced family law topics, further demonstrating his leadership and commitment to educating other legal professionals.
Outside of his legal career, Travis has a passion for football, having served as a high school football official for several years. He is also happily married and enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children.
With a focus on compassion and integrity, Travis helps guide clients through the often challenging and emotional process of family legal matters. He is dedicated to finding tailored solutions that not only protect his clients’ interests but also promote long-term stability for families.
