I hired Michael Clancy just when I was about to give up on an existing post-decree case which I started with a different attorney over a year ago. Michael is knowledgeable, upfront and personable; he gave me the confidence to continue and settle my post decree case. I knew he was secure, capable and... could handle my case and represent me well. He did everything he could to ensure a great outcome for the modification of my current court orders to help my son have a more stable mental, social and physical well-being, which to me is priceless! I had a divorce case previously handled by two other attorneys. I was not happy with many aspects of the court order or the ongoing custody and court order violations from my ex-wife. Michael compiled a tremendous amount of supporting documentation, worked with her attorney try not going back to co...urt and ultimately got me nearly everything I was after (e.g. increased parenting time, enforced accountability for custody violations through a parenting coordinator, child moved to school of my choice and several other items). Michael is polite, professional and aggressive enough to get the results I needed. I would recommend him to anyone needing a family law attorney.

Michael represented me in a child support case that was rather complicated (in my opinion but not his). I have an ex-husband who owed me nearly 25K in back child support from an old order that was no longer in effect now that we had 50/50 custody. After 2 years of getting along and splitting the ki...ds equally my ex decided he wanted me to pay him child support for our two kids since I was now earning more than him (he still owed the 25K and we still had 50/50 custody) and he not only wanted a significant amount of money but he wanted to be "paid back" for every minute that he had the kids or fed them or drove them somewhere that happened during my parenting time time. Keep in mind I have a job, he did not and it was by his own choice to avoid paying the arrears. So confused by what was happening I sought Michael's advice based on the referral of a friend and he explained the laws surrounding the circumstances and gave me a best and worst case scenario. Throughout the entire process I always felt informed of where we were and he never put up with nonsense from my ex and I never had to deal with it at all. The relief of knowing that I was in good hands and could go on with my life while Michael took care of this situation was worth far more than anything I paid him. I didn't have to engage emotionally, or stress out, or spend hours figuring out how to compile and respond to documents. I didn't even participate in the negotiations that were attempted before we went before the judge, Michael knew what I wanted and he was more than capable of fighting that battle without me having to deal with getting upset trying to deal with an irrational ex-husband. The end result was great, the case laid out before the judge was clear and concise and he highlighted the greed and irrational demands my ex-husband was making. The judge's decision is one I am happy with and I would definitely use Michael again.
