The philosophy of Heideman & Associates can be boiled down to four words: we like to win. We understand that when it comes to the bottom-line, clients want to hire a law firm that will obtain the very best possible results through hard work and dedication. We also know that what we do as attorneys can seriously impact the lives of our clients. Our results become our reputation —and so it becomes a matter of personal pride that we do everything we can to prevail in litigation. With respect to our transactional work (for example, contract drafting, wills, estates, trusts, etc.), we take the time and care to coordinate with our clients to assess their specific needs and then produce the very best documents and work product.

Our initial goal is to thoroughly understand the types of problems and issues our clients face. We start out by working to understand precisely what you need so we can offer advice on the best approach to meet those needs. As experienced litigators, we offer a reliable perspective on how a matter might resolve if it ultimately went to trial. If possible, we like to solve problems before they escalate—because this means our clients have to pay less and worry less. If a dispute cannot be avoided, we will use our experience and skill to provide you with assertive and informed legal representation.

Heideman & Associates is a litigation firm with years of experience representing clients in pre-trial, trial, and post trial matters. We handle litigation in a wide variety of legal areas including business law, securities, real estate, municipal/state/civil rights litigation, employment law, contract law and personal injury. Furthermore, we can meet your many legal needs as they pertain to the areas of business formation, venture-capital raises, contracts, entertainment law, wills, estates and trusts.
The practice of law is only one of my many passions. For instance, I along with a group of others have created three legal based applications:

all of these are currently available on ITunes. The first two are particularly helpful to non-lawyers. The third, LORA COURTROOM is a trial presentation app.
In addition to techonogy I deeply enjoy collecting things. I have photographs of my many hunting and fishing expeditions. In particular I enjoy hunting and fishing in Alaska. I also have momentos from the different places I have travelled; either as a lawyer or with my wife and children.
Additionally, I collect pens. I have a former client that is a master woodworker. He travels regularly, and when he does he obtains a piece of wood native to the country he has visited. When he returns he handcrafts a pen for me out of that special piece of wood.
I also love books. As a young child I learned to love reading. When I graduated from Law School, my wife gave me a gift I truly treasure; the 100 greatest books ever written collection from Easton Press. This collection is housed in my office for all to see.
Of course no man is an island, and pictures of my five wonderful children and amazing wife are also prominently displayed. It is a sad reality that attorneys spend far more time in their office than they do just about any other place. I am no exception to this rule. Still, I am greatly blessed to be able to see the people I care about the most in this world by just changing the focus of my gaze.
Of course, a visitor will also see my putting green and golf clubs that unfortunately gather far to much dust between uses. Still, they serve as a reminder that a bright sunny day awaits. I love to practice law, it is a noble and fulfilling profession. It is however the means to the real ends of building a life. Fortunately, I have a tremendous staff and associate attorneys that help me accomplish just that.

Although I appreciate Mr. Hiedeman for taking my case on a contingency basis, I wasn't impressed with how quickly he dumped it. He didn't think I had a case, I disagree. Replied last August 19, 2019Miya: I am stunned at this review. Specifically, we worked for free on your case as an accommodation to you. We took the case after you had already filed against a governmental entity, and we did so quickly because of pending potential deadlines. After we were able to obtain all of the relevant documentation it became abundantly clear that you did not have a viable cause of action. Again, we had not charged you anything, and we then reached out to you and explained the view we had of your claims. You were disappointed and wanted us to continue. I explained that there was nothing to continue with. Now, despite having paid nothing, you are complaining that we failed to serve you sufficiently, even though we could find no viable legal theory. The truly frustrating element of this review is your second paragraph - which is entirely false. We undertook the representation when the time frames were already pending, as I stated earlier. Each time a timeframe was received or discovered, we notified you on the date that the information was obtained. When the denial of your claim was issued we were informed that you had received a letter directly informing you of the denial. That letter contained your appellate deadline. As we obtained information regarding the appeal and confirmed that there was no viable claim we passed that information on as well. Of course, when your final day for appeal came, as a matter of courtesy, we contacted you to remind you of the fact. We did so because that is what responsible legal counsel does, they remind clients of their deadlines, even after they were initially informed not only by their counsel but also by the state of Utah in this case. Your review gives off the impression that this was your first notice. It absolutely was not. It was a reminder in case you were deciding to move forward despite our legal conclusion that the case was meritless. What is happening here is that you didn't like the fact your initial, personal, attempts were rejected by the state. Then you hired counsel, which took the case because of pending deadlines, without the benefit of a full review, to make sure your matter was not compromised by the passage of time, and after the review confirmed that the claim was meritless. So rather than accept that, you have decided to rail against the firm that worked for free on your matter.
