In 2010, there were more than 7,000 drunk driving arrests in the State of Utah. Our state is continually cracking down on intoxicated driving, but unfortunately, many people are arrested who may not actually have deserved it. Intoxicated driving is the most commonly committed crime in Utah, especially in a large city such as SLC. If you recently were arrested for DUI, then you have come to the right place. At Rocky Mountain Defenders, our Salt Lake City criminal lawyers are skilled in this area.

Hard working man - Needed fair representation.

I am a hard working man who has done everything to take care of my family in troubled times. There have been many misunderstandings and confusions. Attorney Kevin was willing to LISTEN, sort through falsehoods, and took the time to understand my situation to properly represent me. He was able to ...communicate my circumstances when I couldn't, and help me get through a hard process. Thank you Kevin! I have my life back again!

Thanks Kevin and Summer for the Honest Hard Work on my Brother's Case~ From the Scott S. Family

My brother had prior Controlled Substance charges and we contacted Rocky Mountain Defenders and they jumped on the case ASAP, they visited my brother within 24 hours at the Metro Jail in SLC and calmed him down and put him at ease and advised him. My brother got a excellent result thanks to Kevin an...d Summer double teaming the Prosecutors in 3rd District-SL. We are happy we hired them and will continue to spread the word. They were honest and direct and we appreciated that. They didn't tell us things just to make us hire them.

A moms thoughts

If your needing a lawyer do Not hire Kevin we hired him three weeks before court & he didn’t communicate with us calling his office we were told we had to make an apt to have him call us & had to set up an apt for him to call our son in jail also my son tried many times to reach out to him & no answe...r! He doesn’t take his job seriously he doesn’t see the long term affect this has on our family & our son! He wouldn’t let us talk he’d just over talk us everytime we reached out to him with our concerns! It was like he wanted the money but didn’t want to listen to our side and has his mind made up already. My son has been in there for a month now and he couldn’t even speak up like he did to us and ask for bail!! If your to busy or can’t talk well with others why do this job?! Breaks my heart as a momma to expect a good job to be done & In return get treated like crap!! Now my son is paying the price and sitting longer because he said we were asking to much & removed himself from the case!! How’s asking for communication to much?!

Dropped the ball

If I could have given no stars I would. During a very terrible period in my life directly after the death of my longtime girlfriend, I got into some trouble while visiting Utah. Initially it seemed like Kevin was doing a good job, and he recommended I move home to Maine. Towards the end of the deal p...rocess he missed a court appearance, and while he managed to smooth that over and finalize the deal, which seemed like a fair deal, it was increasingly a hassle to get any kind of information or help from him. At which point he handed my care to Adam, and Jason. Halfway through completing my probation as I was trying to meet all the other terms that were required I inquired about the deadlines, to which they assured me, I had ample time to complete, despite the court officer telling me different. I believed them. So after faxing them the paperwork proof of me meeting my conditions, and later, with a month left to deadline, I was attempting to satisfy the last condition of a seminar I was supposed to visit but wasn't offered within 150 miles of where I live, but is offered online and acceptable in every other county in Utah except for salt lake county, and called them again to ask if they could find out if a waiver could be had to allow acceptance of the online version. Adam and Jason assured me they would find out. A week passed and they didn't contact me. They wouldn't take my calls. I began frantically trying to contact the courts, who refused me information on the basis of me having an attorney, but I did manage to find out that the last condition didn't matter, because they had either lied or been negligent 6 months previous when they contradicted the court officer's information. So now, not only is my probation screwed up, but I'll get slammed with a maximum penalty for charges held back, and have a bench warrant for my arrest. And to this day nobody at that office will take my calls, and if I do call from a number they don't know, they'll just say anything to get off the phone with me and never answer again.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
