I have dedicated my practice to criminal defense and most specifically DUI defense.  I have attended special training, the same training that law enforcement officers undergo in order to investigate DUIs.  I have never defended a DUI case where we were unable to find some weakness or problem with the State's case to get better results.  I not only zealously defend DUIs at the criminal level, I also dedicate as much time and attention to the Driver's License hearings.  I get results for my clients.  

Not only do I have a very experienced knowledge on DUI defense and investigations, I sincerely care about my clients and how my work directly impacts their personal lives.  I will get results for you.

Best lawyer EVER!
I've been represented by Melissa for years,. She always answers your calls, shows up to court Everytime and VERY PREPARED. I was going thru a hard time and got a few DUIs, one which I wasn't even driving. She got that dui dismissed, plus other charges! I was put on AP&P and got a violation, she represented me then w no extra charge,! They were asking for a yr in jail and terminate. She saved me and got me Revoked and reinstated. She's so sweet and understanding. Definitely worth every penny. I can truly call her and friend and perfect lawyer,! I love you Melissa!

Life Saver!
I was fortunate enough to work with Melissa several years ago for a DUI that came during an extremely difficult time in my life. There didn't seem to be much hope initially, but I became more optimistic when we won the hearing for my driver's license. Next up was the suppression hearing in front of a judge that is apparently notoriously tough. We were the last case to be heard that day, and after sitting for several hours and witnessing every singe case before mine have their motion to suppress be denied I wasn't feeling particularly encouraged. What I witnessed over the next 40 minutes was truly masterful. Melissa's experience and training allowed her to pull on the thread that was the state's case, and when it was over there was nothing left of it--case dismissed! Best day of my life, and one that I have never taken for granted. It was clear from the first court appearance that Melissa has the respect of her colleagues, both defense attorneys and prosecutors alike. She's not only very knowledgable but has a presence in the courtroom that is evident to all. I never felt like it was just another day at the office for Melissa, she doesn't lose sight of the gravity of her clients' circumstances. I should have written this review a long time ago, but I am extremely grateful for what Melissa was able to do for me in my time of need.

Absolutely Great
Fortunately for me Mellisa represented me at a dark part of my life. Absolutely professional, guiding me through the processes, requirements and suggestions for improving my outcome and a new life. She was very personable, reminding me where, when and how I needed to be. I needed her more than once in a three year period and she was able to get me more than a favorable result. Fantastic, professional, and worth every dime!
I was charged with a DUI when the arresting officer didn't have probable cause to pull me over. I figured there was a case, but I still wasn't sure what to do. After explaining my problem to Melissa over the phone, she thoroughly and clearly took me through my options, gave me her professional opinion, and walked me through how she saw the process unfolding. She was incredibly nice, always responsive and available, and she handled every single aspect of my case from start to finish, always making sure to check up with me to make sure everything was taken care of. She always made sure to give me options, as well, ie: whether I wanted her to fight the case altogether and try to get it dismissed, or try and take the best deal the prosecutor would agree to. She always made sure I understood what was happening. She ended up getting my charges reduced to almost the bare minimum without having to go to trial. Fantastic attorney, even better person, and wouldn't hesitate to hire again if the need ever arises! Hands down worth the money.

Worth EVERY Penny
Life is far too short to take a chance on your legal defense. I was charged with DUI in Utah and started to seek out the lawyer that would best help my situation. I sat down with about 10 different lawyers before having a friend refer me to Melissa Fulkerson. I found out with my initial consultation that she was different than all of the lawyers I met with previously. She was no nonsense from the start, and was very upfront about what she could and couldn’t do based on the case I described. I felt so great about my consultation with her that I made the arrangements to hire her that day. She has been by my side throughout a very drawn out legal process, and because of her dedication and professional skill set, I was not convicted of a DUI. I hope you never find yourself in my situation, but if you do, please don’t waste any time or effort. Call Melissa. She is one of the best in the business.

Melissa kick's a-- once again.
I was charged with two second degree Felonies, as well as 4 class "A" misdemeanors. Being in my career field this could have devastated my entire life. After four other Attorney's failed to do the job requested, (Which was not accept any sort of plea related to drugs or alcohol), My case was entirely dismissed. Keep in mind that Melissa had only been to two ten minute court appearances out of the eight continued hearings. On the second hearing date (She attended as counsel) she was able to complete the Job by pointing out the State's lack of evidence against me. She is tough as nails, yet approachable whenever you need her guidance. Melissa knows her sh--, and will call the State on it when necessary. She is the best Attorney that I have ever worked with, and would highly recommend anyone needing help to at the very least consult with her before hiring other Attorney's due to cheaper cost. Melissa saved my career, my reputation, and basically, got the job done quickly, and to my satisfaction.

Fierce advocate during the worst period of my life!
Melissa is incredible. I was referred to her by another lawyer friend, and she was by my side from day one. This was the only time I have ever been in trouble with the law and I was terrified, humiliated, and depressed. Melissa stayed relentlessly positive and optimistic, and made sure that I was doing OK and understood what was going on. She responded to all of my texts and emails quickly and I truly felt like I could trust her with this critical point in my life. She fought for me the whole time and we were able to obtain a very fair outcome for my case. I really appreciated her attitude because she never made me feel like a criminal or a bad person. On the contrary, she always reminded me that this one bad act didn't define who I was, and that my life would move on and get better. She kept pointing out the light when I was in a very dark place. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I did, or if any of my friends or family needed an attorney, I would turn to Melissa in a heartbeat.

Compassionate but Kick A** Attorney
I was arrested for a DUI in Salt Lake City. This had the potential to devastate my career and also my family life. I researched the top DUI attorneys in the state but was also directly referred to Melissa by a couple friends who she helped in the past. Melissa saved my drivers license and fought for me in court in a way where I felt very important to her. I watched other attorneys in court and she went above and beyond what other lawyers were doing. She was willing to fight for me and not talk me into just taking a plea. I'm Happy, Happy , Happy!!!! ( As Phil Robertson would say)
There are no real words such as acronyms, verbs or adjectives to describe Melissa Fulkerson. I personally had the pleasure of hiring her services last year and let me add? Simply stupendous! Not only is Melissa stupendously Brilliant! She is also extremely high energy, knowledgeable, Professional, to the point and does not mess around. I would highly advise anyone looking for a GREAT Attorney, to choose wisely and choose the best all the around. Melissa genuinely cares about her clients and their good reputations. My charge was a DUI. It was reduced to a much lesser charge due to her persistence. I only had to appear in court ONCE and that was the day of sentencing. (results may not be typical however depending on your case and evidence involved) I just know everything was stacked against me and we prevailed. Thank you so much you Melissa!
