As a foreign student suffering from heavy financial stress due to Covid unemployment and recent marriage. I made a dumb decision to swap tags at a grocery store to make it more affordable for the new wedding home and got charged with 3 misdemeanor B shoplifting charges. I was honest with the poli...ce and willing to take responsibility without knowing how severe the criminal and immigration outcome would be, it also turned my case into almost a dead case. The criminal outcome would be a $3000 court fine, $622.29 restitution, and possible jail time. The immigration outcome would be immediate deportation and deny re-entry for life. It will destroy my life. After calling lots of criminal defense lawyers, I decided to hire Kevin because he knows the prosecutors, is experienced in the criminal defense field for so many years, is well respected among the court, other lawyers, and clients. The timing of my case was not ideal due to the holiday season, Kevin had quite a lot of cases but fulfilled his words to call me back to discuss time-sensitive matters. Before the court date, he got me a plea in abeyance deal after talking with the prosecutor. I'm looking at only 1 charge after the prosecutor amended the other two charges to help with my immigration, a $1000 court fine, $622.29 restitution, taking a court-required class, and 1-year probation with no jail time, the case will be dismissed after the probation. During the court hearing, Kevin was very professional, he represented me well, and even further mentioned to the judge and prosecutor that I'm still a decent and honest man. He called me after the court hearing as well to comfort me and make sure I understood everything. He turned around a dead case to save my marriage, my reputation, my American dream, and my future. I could not believe I would ever be in this position in my life. My girlfriend had a argument and we were pretty mad and so I said I’m calling the police. She said go for it. Well, I called being stubborn and challenged. Next thing I know I’m being charged even though we never hit each other etc. We ...both had a few drinks but not impaired. Well anyways we contacted this office and spoke to Dave and he was so professional and calming and truly cared about my innocence. Jason is the legal assistant and he was very helpful. Kevin really knows what he’s doing. He was tremendous and he know how to deal with prosecutors etc. I can’t thank them enough for everything.
