Erika Alese Gebhardt

Words can't adequately express how much Erika and the whole GEM family means to me. I say family because that's what they feel like at this point. Erika cares about me, but she also cares very much about my kids and their well being. As stressful as this has been, she has held my hand through it all,... even working well past hours to work on my case. She is passionate about her work both as an attorney and CFI and she is phenomenal at both. She is a bull dog and will fight for you (and your children, if needed). She is well balanced and has the patience of a SAINT both with me and opposing counsel. She is professional, thorough, methodical, and appropriately aggressive. Erika took over my case after my previous attorney moved out of state. She took the time to get to know my case during the transition time. My daughter has been court ordered into therapy and at the very end of 2018, my daughter’s father purposely sabotaged the relationship she had with her therapist... by threatening the therapist and making it impossible for her to continue seeing my daughter. He didn’t want her seeing this therapist anymore because the therapist would hold him accountable regarding emotional concerns for my daughter and he didn’t like that. Around that same time, my daughter’s father also banned my daughter from coming to his house and kept her half brother from her as a form of punishment for sharing her feelings with him. Erika immediatley jumped into action, shared her advice of how to move forward and took an assertive approach to dealing with my daughter’s father. She filed a very thorough motion on my behalf and the courts responded immediately with an emergency hearing due to my daughter needing to be in therapy, especially with what her father was doing to her. We were in court within a week and Erika worked diligently that whole week preparing for the hearing, trying to communicate with my daughter’s father and his attorney and keeping me calm with the stress of court while helping me support my daughter, on top of her other cases. She was so patient and compassionate during all of this, especially because I had just had a baby days before. Ever since my divorce 10 years ago, we have been in court numerous times and I have had three previous attorneys (one also from GEM Family Law that was also amazing but she moved out of state). The first two did the bare minimum and it showed when it came to their representation. Erika goes above and beyond, which also shows through her representation. I strongly recommend Erika, or any attorney for that matter, from GEM Family Law. I will keep Erika as my attorney for as long as I possibly can, which I’m hoping is at least until my daughter turns 18.

I had the honor of having Erika as my Attorney for my initial divorce. I left my Divorce with everything I wanted including 50/50 parenting time and decision making. As a father this was huge Victory for me especially sincr my case involved a lot of false accusation and very hard to work with ex.
