I solely represent employees against their current and former employers. My services to you are designed to meet your specific goals and needs. I am available to provide private counseling to you without ever informing your employer that you are seeking legal assistance, represent you in an appeal for unemployment benefits, review and/or negotiate employment contracts, fight for you in Court, or anything in between that makes sense for your situation.

Discrimination 15%

Even though everyone knows that discrimination is illegal, it still happens. If you have been disciplined or fired, or if you are being treated differently at work because of your gender, sex, sexual identity, age, race, national origin, color, religion, disability, genetic information, parental responsibilities or pregnancy, you may be entitled to damages. There are time limits for you to take action, so call us right away to give yourself the best options.

Sexual harassment in the workplace can be very difficult to talk about, and often the situation gets more complicated as time passes. You don't have to keep living with the stress and you don't have to face this alone: call us for help.

The law in Colorado regarding employment contracts is fairly specific. If your employer has asked you to sign a non-competition or non-soliciation agreement, or wants you to sign a release in exchange for severance, you should understand exactly what you are agreeing to. If you have been accused of violating a contract or agreement that you signed, don't put off contacting us.

The law forbids sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination when it comes to any aspect of employment. Harassment is also prohibited. If you have experienced illegal treatment at work because of who you are or who you love, we can help.

Great experience!

I had an exceptional experience working with Livelihood Law on with my employment law matter. Their team was knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. They provided clear guidance, were always available to answer my questions, and ultimately achieved a favo...rable outcome. I highly recommend Livelihood Law to anyone seeking legal representation in employment law.

She was knowledgeable and compassionate.

She took time to understand my specific situation and was able to quickly present options and advise on possible outcomes.

Understanding, Compassionate and Knowledgeable

I was an HR Manager with a very sticky situation. The president of the company had been doing erratic irrational behaviors to many employees including me the entire time I worked there, but I knew something was going very wrong after I returned from Maternity Leave and my job duties had changed, amon...g many other concerning factors. I consulted with Rachel and felt she took a lot of time looking into all of my documentation and was invested in my situation. She was compassionate with her words but was honest and straight forward with the situation. She helped brainstorm ways to make the situation better, and how I can be moving forward, what all of my options were. Although I didn't expect what she said, she explained it in great detail and made sure that she answered all of my questions. When following up she has given me great advice as well. Be aware that it might not be an instantaneous response from Rachel, but communicate what you need from her and she is very responsive! I'm thankful to have met her, and will hopefully not need her in the future but would recommend her to others for any employment issues.

You came to me before things went completely off track and I had time to make a strategic plan. I am happy that I was able to provide you with insight and clarity about your best options.

Great Job!

I only hired this firm a little bit ago and so far so good- they listened and were attentive. My case is a complex one with a major employer and many factors- I am hoping we get great results and will update my review as we get further into the case etc.

WORST LAWYER EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you need help with an employment issue make sure THIS lawyer doesn't actually know/is friend's with your boss!!!!! Not only will she bring it up but it'll seem as though she knows them because of their time in management. DON'T BE FOOLED!!!!!!! After months, even a year later with absolutely ZERO ...RESULTS, I came to find out the reason this lawyer mentioned a particular name on my FMLA paperwork. It was NOT because she knew him from being in management but because she was friend's with him on a personal level. I could not understand why for the life me my "lawyer" was doing such a horrible job??????? Issues we discussed that I had handled within a week were not actually dealt with until 4 months later. All the while, this firm charged me for every communication, mostly brought on by me because it was like pulling teeth to get any communication from them regarding my case. What became a 2 week response time eventually grew into NO response at all! They just sat back, did NOTHING, LET MY UNION DO EVERYTHING AND STILL CHARGED ME FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!! I couldn't believe how truly AWFUL my treatment from Rachel Ellis was!!!! Even my union lawyers were shocked when I forwarded ALL my emails between Livelihood Law and myself. I later found out the reason this "lawyer" knew about my previous boss was NOT because of legal dealings but because they are friends! While I was in awe about how incredibily horrible this firm was treating me it now makes sense! I truly felt they were going out of their way to hurt my cases and that was actually the truth! Rachel Ellis told me everything I needed/wanted to hear. She told me my case would be handled in no time. She also assured me anything beyond a demand letter would be on a contingency basis but she was sure my case would not even make it that far. She also assured me my demand letter would done within a week, LIE # 1!!!! Not only was my demand letter not done within a week, it wasn't done for 3 months! On top of that, I continued to get billed for every communication! When talking with multiple people from this firm they said I was on an hourly basis not contingency. I WOULD HAVE NEVER HIRED AN EMPLOYMENT LAW FIRM IF IT WAS NOT AGREED UPON A CONTINGENCY, NOT EVEN FOR A DEMAND LETTER THAT WAS PAID FOR SEPARATELY!!!!!! Now that I know this lawyer's true character, it makes total sense why she changed her story and has been billing me all along. I also regretfully recommended this lawyer to more than one other employee in my situation, at least 2 of them are on a contingency for the same issue as mine.
